Professor Egor Rocha - 3 x Black Belt Australian National Champion 🏆

This weekend in Melbourne Professor Egor brought home Gold in the Heavyweight division, claiming his third consecutive Black Belt Australian National Championship title. He also secured bronze in the Open Weight division.

Three years. Three Australian National Black Belt titles. The standard of excellence.

This year was special, his first Nationals as a father. Egor stood at the podium with his gold medal in one hand and our 3 month old son Alek in the other. A moment we will never forget.

What a milestone for our academy and for our family.

ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT GABRIEL

Double Gold. First Competition as a Blue Belt.

Gabriel stepped onto the mats at the Port Macquarie Open Jiu Jitsu Championship for his first competition since earning his Blue Belt. He delivered an outstanding performance and took home gold in both Gi & No Gi 🥇🥇

PORT MACQUARIE OPEN 2026

Our Kids Team stepped onto the competition mat and showed everyone what consistent training, discipline and belief in themselves looks like.

OUR FIRST MEN’S OPEN DAY

BJJ is one of the best things you can do for your body & your mind.

It challenges you. It grounds you. It puts you around people who show up consistently and support each other.

On the weekend we had our first Men’s Open Day at Evolve BJJ. We had all levels come together to train and learn about optimal health & recovery.

Guest speaker Jose de Jesus, Physiotherapist, Exercise Physiologist and one of our own shared his expertise on injury prevention, recovery and daily habits that keep you performing at your best.

The men did a Self Defence BJJ session with Professor Egor Rocha and rolled after.

Thanks to all the men that joined the day. It was a great day for the men in our community, in recognition of Men’s Mental Health Month.
