“For You”

From the very first rehearsal, we asked these dancers to dig deep, trust themselves, and rise to the occasion. This group brought together dancers with a wide range of competition experience, yet they blended seamlessly, supporting one another, growing together, and creating something truly special. We pushed them to focus on artistry over awards, to make the work less about competing and more about feeling, storytelling, and honest expression. The choreography required them to revisit a moment in their lives when they had hurt someone they love, a vulnerable place that demanded courage, reflection, and emotional maturity. Through this process, they learned that vulnerability is not weakness; it is a powerful part of being human and an essential part of being an artist. We are incredibly proud of these dancers not only for the success they had, but for the heart, growth, and authenticity they poured into this number. “For You” became more than a routine. It became a shared experience, a lesson in empathy, and a reminder of the beauty that emerges when young artists allow themselves to be seen. taken in Evolving Dance Company by @evolvingdancecompany

“New York, New York”

Dreaming of the bright lights and cityscapes . From the first performance, this duo made every audience feel joy, excitement, and hope, all wrapped into one beautiful moment. Their take on a classic‑song became a little love letter to the future they’re chasing. This duo only began its journey in December, and they went on to place in the top five at every competition. It’s clear: their story is just getting started, and it’s already shining. taken in Evolving Dance Company by @evolvingdancecompany

Five years ago, I wasn’t sure what I was getting into and what it would become. Today, it’s a thriving community that has changed my life in ways I never could have imagined.
As I look back, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for every student, family, staff member, supporter, and friend who has been part of this journey. Thank you for trusting the vision, believing in the process, and growing alongside us.
What makes this milestone so special isn’t just the growth of the company. It’s the growth of the people within it. I’ve had the privilege of watching dancers gain confidence, discover their passions, build lifelong friendships, and become the incredible young people they are today.
I’m also grateful for all of the new faces who have joined us over the years, each bringing their own energy, talent, and story to our community. And perhaps one of the greatest gifts of all has been seeing my own family become part of this space. Watching them share in this journey and create memories alongside our dance family has made these five years even more meaningful.
So here’s to 5 years of Evolving Dance Company. To our incredible faculty, our supportive families, and of course our hardworking dancers who inspire us every single day. Let’s keep dancing, keep creating, keep growing, and most importantly, keep evolving.

With Love,
Matt 💕

“Oscar Winning Tears”

Oscar Winning Tears challenged these dancers to find the balance between softness and strength, to let themselves be vulnerable without losing their power. Every step carried intention, with dynamic movements, intricate transitions and strong musicality woven throughout the choreography. These dancers brought honesty, intensity, and depth to the stage, creating a piece that felt both vulnerable and powerful all at once.

“Stay”

Season 4 was a tremendous journey filled with incredible highs and remarkable personal achievements, and this outstanding performance might just surpass them all. We couldn’t be more proud of these talented young women and the masterpiece they’ve brought to life. Every step, every move of this routine was meticulously choreographed, with rehearsal schedules managed, costumes customized with rhinestone details, all by the dedication and hard work of these exceptional dancers. From December to May, they put in a lot of time into this project, and it has truly paid off. By providing the necessary resources and giving them the creative freedom, we’ve witnessed these dancers flourish into outstanding leaders, choreographers and artists. The future shines bright for these talented individuals, and we can’t wait to see the incredible things they’ll achieve. Their dedication to delivering such stunning work at such a young age is truly inspiring. taken in Evolving Dance Company by @evolvingdancecompany
