In this powerful clip from the EVR FWD Podcast episode “Through Fire & Flames,” actor, filmmaker and Story Ambassador for the @ashestofilms @theevansloan shares one of the most emotionally intense moments of his career. Evan recounts landing the biggest role of his life… a pivotal character in Jennifer Lopez’s Netflix action film Atlas. He talks about spending an entire day on set acting one-on-one with JLo as the character who ultimately saves her life.

Just one week before the film’s release, Evan received devastating news from the director: his scene was cut due to story changes made in the final edit. What followed was heartbreak, disappointment, and a profound reckoning with the realities of the film industry.

In this honest and inspiring conversation, Evan opens up about processing creative loss, redefining success, and embracing the idea that filmmaking is a team sport. His perspective on resilience, ego, and gratitude offers invaluable insight for actors, filmmakers, and creatives navigating rejection, career highs and lows, and the unseen side of Hollywood.

A must-watch moment about perseverance, purpose, and finding meaning beyond the Final Cut. Hosted by @tylertackett & Mair Mulroney, brought to you by @evr.fwd

Trying that “fake location” filmmaking trend where you use your TV as the background instead of paying for a real location … the other week it was down pouring in LA and we decided to have some fun inside.

We setup a boxing gym in the living room using a TV as a background and COULD we have just used a green screen? Yes 😂 but we wanted to see how well this trend really worked! Honestly … the Setup VS The Shot glow-up on this one is kinda insane.

Proof you don’t need a big budget to make cinematic content. You just need creativity (and a TV apparently).

On the EVR FWD Podcast @Tyler Tackett asks @thatgirlmair if she’d rather be the person who gets lucky or the person who has to drudge through the trenches.

Younger her would’ve picked luck every time, but because she thought having someone “give her a shot” meant they believed in her talent.

Now? She realizes she never needed someone else to validate her. She didn’t need them to believe in her. She needed to believe in herself.

This episode is for anyone waiting on permission or a “big break”

@tylertackett built a “spotlight” using a random orange lightbulb and tin foil and I’m still 🤯 that it turned out this cinematic. Creativity on a budget — we love to see it✨ @evr.fwd

There’s always that one person on set who somehow ends up running the show… no idea how they got there, but everyone’s just rolling with it. 😅 NDB it’s not like there are any big names attached … it’ll be fiiiinnneeeee.

If you’ve ever worked in film, you know exactly who this is.
