Retour de Paris avec un nouveau partenariat ancré. Dans ce trip, le chemin est fractal : chaque session est une marche vers une plus grande, un petit pas vers un but encore plus grand. Entre deux, on carve au bord de la Seine, ensemble, à tous les niveaux. Un kouign amann au spot, un espresso, les mains de mon élève qui tapent le 3:2 sur la table. Une pizza dans l’herbe. Le studio attend la prochaine grande étape. Je roule, je glisse, je recharge. Le trajet n’est jamais du temps perdu. À mes débuts, j’enregistrais des lignes de basse pour un jeune producteur. Je préparais mes meilleures lignes chez moi et j’arrivais au studio avec le titre dans les doigts. Première session, tout roule. Deuxième, Alex me dit « essaie autre chose ». Grand trou. Je n’avais rien d’autre. On remet au lendemain. Le lendemain, je pose des cordes neuves sur la table. Je fais semblant de chercher, je le laisse me guider, puis je le ramène vers la ligne qu’il avait refusée. « Wow, c’est la bonne. On garde ça. » Donner trop tôt, c’est voler à l’autre le cheminement de son choix. C’est pour ça que je me retiens sur les extraits de mon prochain single. Et toi, ça te donne quelle envie d’entendre ça ? 🇬🇧 Early on, I recorded bass lines for a young producer. I’d prepare my best lines at home and arrive with the song in my fingers. First session, all good. Second, Alex says “try something else.” Void. I had nothing else. We rescheduled. Next day, I put fresh strings on the table. Je viens de terminer un chantier électrique un peu costaud pour mon niveau. Rien d’extraordinaire, mais assez pour mériter un moment. Alors direction l’hôtel le Nessay, pour célébrer. On attend trop souvent les grandes victoires pour se faire plaisir. Les diplômes, les contrats, les projets finis. Mais les petites victoires, celles qui demandent un effort sincère et un peu de sueur, méritent aussi leur coupe. Quand tu réussis un petit pas, célèbre-le avec tes potes.
