There’s a new kid in town. 🖤

A little glimpse from last night’s soft opening. @by_aylinkoenig opens its doors today in Hamburg Eppendorf. by @ewagiers.studio

Fast fertig. Leider. by @ewagiers.studio

Use the marble. Let it age. by @ewagiers.studio

Sicily has been a beautiful reminder of why I love things that age. Not everything needs to be renewed, perfected or replaced. Some things simply become more beautiful when they’re allowed to. by @ewagiers.studio

The problem isn’t that materials age. It’s that we expect them not to. I’ll take patina over perfection every time. by @ewagiers.studio

By Aylin Koenig opens its doors this Friday.

Months of ideas, decisions, changes and details coming together. There’s something special about seeing a space that existed in your head long before it existed in real life finally take shape.

And this project reminded me how much it matters to be on the same page with your client. Even with all the time pressure and inevitable challenges that come with a project like this, the whole process felt incredibly natural.

Aylin & Tobi, thank you for trusting me and Tim with your space. by @ewagiers.studio

From the Archive.

The project was intentionally built around tension. I always love working with unexpected combinations and contrasts that create a certain friction within a space.

Retail spaces become far more memorable when they feel considered beyond pure visual aesthetics. by @ewagiers.studio

The older I get, the more I know what I want. And apparently, I still want quite a lot. 🤓 by @ewagiers.studio

Six years ago, this former bakery became the CLOSED Men’s Store in Eppendorf/ Hamburg.

The idea was never just to create a place for clothes. We wanted to create a community point in the neighbourhood. A place to meet, have a coffee, talk, discover fashion and stay a little longer.

So the coffee bar became one of the central elements of the space, connecting retail with hospitality and turning the store into more than a place to shop. by @ewagiers.studio

It’s shaped by everything you’ve seen, loved, questioned, rejected and lived through. Maybe that’s the one thing you can’t shortcut.

On a completely unnecessary note: I’m obsessed with this snake dress. Expect to see a lot of me in it 🐍 by @ewagiers.studio

A curated collection of my design weaknesses. Don’t blame me if you start noticing them everywhere. by @ewagiers.studio
