Ballet evolved through time and became so intricate, musical, and athletic. So why does the space around them remain the same?

Sensors and real-time projections allow scenography to listen to dancers and music, from the first cue to the final curtain. It's all about enhancing the narrative. The stage stops being a backdrop and becomes a character.

Mit unglaublich erfolgreichen und ausverkauften Aufführungen hat Volt[age] die Grenzen von klassischem Tanz und digitaler Kunst verschoben und die Bühne durch Licht, Bewegung und immersive Szenografie neu definiert. 🩰⚡️

👏 Besonderer Dank geht an den künstlerischen Leiter Nicolas Landrieux (@exhausted_lab), die unglaublich talentierten Tänzer und @musikalischekomoedie (@oper_leipzig) für die tolle Zusammenarbeit.

Nach dieser wunderbaren Premiere ist Volt[age] nun bereit, sich weiterzuentwickeln und neue Ziele zu erkunden. 🚀

With an incredible sold-out series, Volt[age] pushed the boundaries of classical dance and digital art, redefining the stage through light, movement and immersive scenography. 🩰⚡️

Since the Premiere of Volt[age] in 2025, a lot of people asked me what was done with AI. The answer is: nothing. As an artist I have just too much fun in the process. To delegate it to a machine would make no sens. I work with dancers because I want human interactions, bodys, flesh, sweat, feelings. Technology is great, as long as we don’t fully surrender to it.

3 days, 6 shows, 1500 spectators of all ages.

Whether the 19-year-old and the subscriber lean in at the same moments. Whether the silence after act 3 holds. Whether people who came for the projections leave talking about the dancers.

Theaters don’t have a young-audience problem the night the room fills like this. They have it every other night.

Closing that gap is the entire reason this production exists.

🖤💫 Bedrohlich schön: ein immersives Ballett in Leipzig 🩰

Volt[age] verwandelt das @kunstkraftwerk_leipzig in eine Bühne zwischen analoger und digitaler Welt. Die Inszenierung erzählt die Geschichte über den Menschen und seine vielleicht komplizierteste Beziehung: die zur Technologie. 🦾💻

Die Handlung entwickelt sich über fünf Akte. Am Anfang steht der Mensch als Schöpfer: Technologie ist sein Werkzeug. Doch sie lernt, wächst und entwickelt sich weiter. Aus dem Werkzeug wird zunehmend ein Gegenüber – und irgendwann beginnt dieses Gegenüber, die Kontrolle seines Schöpfers herauszufordern.

Ein Machtkampf entsteht, der schließlich in einer ziemlich radikalen Entscheidung endet: Der Mensch schaltet seine eigene Schöpfung ab. 🔌

Genau hier setzt Volt[age] mit einer entscheidenden Frage an: Können wir Technologie überhaupt noch aus unserem Leben entfernen – oder ist sie längst so eng mit uns verbunden, dass eine Trennung kaum noch möglich ist? 👀

Bereits im vergangenen Jahr feierte das immersive Ballett seine Premiere im Kunstkraftwerk – und war schon vorab ausverkauft. 2026 kehrt die Produktion nun für eine begrenzte Zahl von Vorstellungen zurück. 🩰
