🇬🇧 At EXHIBIT we continue with our latest photographic exhibition “Fusco”. The conceptual starting point is the Portuguese term Fusco, which refers to the crepuscular; to that moment when light begins to fade and contours soften. This notion functions as the axis of the exhibition: a liminal territory where the visible shifts toward ambiguous, silent zones filled with emotional resonance.Gil Heitor Cortesão works on plexiglass, creating surfaces where painting becomes translucent and scenes acquire a spectral quality. In “Patamar” the artist generates a translucent vision that is neither fully pictorial nor merely photographic. The depicted architecture seems to exist in an intermediate state, like a luminous echo trapped between presence and disappearance, reinforcing the sense of fusco as atmosphere.🇪🇦 En Exhibit continuamos con nuestra última exposición fotográfica “Fusco”. El punto de partida conceptual es el término portugués Fusco, que alude a lo crepuscular, a ese momento en que la luz comienza a desvanecerse y los contornos se suavizan. Esta noción funciona como eje de la muestra: un territorio liminal donde lo visible se desplaza hacia zonas ambiguas, silenciosas y cargadas de resonancias emocionales.Gil Heitor Cortesão trabaja sobre plexiglás, generando superficies donde la pintura se vuelve translúcida y las escenas adquieren un carácter espectral. En “Patamar” el artista genera una visión translúcida que no es ni totalmente pictórica ni meramente fotográfica. 🇬🇧 EXHIBIT presents the photographic exhibition Fusco, bringing together for the first time, in an intimate dialogue, three prominent Portuguese artists—Daniel Blaufuks, Gil Heitor Cortesão, and Rita Magalhães—whose works converse through a shared sensitivity toward memory, perception, and the in-between states of the image.In @danielblaufuks Untitled, represented by a unique piece from his series Flowers for Walt (1998), photography operates as a poetic archive. His images evoke memories suspended or frozen in relation to Walt Disney, fragments of time that seem to inhabit a crepuscular space between the clarity of documentation and intimate evocation.🇪🇦 EXHIBIT presenta la exposición fotográfica Fusco, reuniendo por primera vez, en un diálogo íntimo a tres destacados artistas portugueses —Daniel Blaufuks, Gil Heitor Cortesão y Rita Magalhães— cuyas obras dialogan entre sí a través de una sensibilidad compartida hacia la memoria, la percepción y los estados intermedios de la imagen,En la obra Untitled de Daniel Blaufuks, representada aquí por una pieza única de su serie “Flowers for Walt” (1998), la fotografía opera como archivo poético. Together, their works shape a compelling visual dialogue around youth, introspection, and the enigmatic spaces in between.@ellen_kooi ‘s work "Borssele-Rode Jurk" constructs a deeply narrative scene where a female figure, dressed in vibrant red, enters a vast wheat field. 🇬🇧 Last days to visit the amazing exhibition “Placebo Meadow” by @alba__matilla Meteoro starts from the idea of a lake, to which a flare of color is later introduced in the center that invites us to think about the arrival of a fiery body from the night sky. This painting is placed on the floor, as if it were a carpet or a puddle. Matilla explores the idea of the domestic landscape or environments in which the digital, the natural and the identity coexist, such as the home. 🇬🇧 Alba Matilla transports us to a virtual world with her small representation of the red shell. @alba__matilla “Casi lloviendo. Caparazón rojo.” represents a very recurrent sight on the Cantabrian coast that consists of a specific and occasional moment where, after raining all day, the humidity paralyzes for a few moments just at sunset, and some orange and pink rays cross the cloudy sky, and then give way again to a rainy night. The red shell represents one of the most characteristic elements of the well-known Super Mario video game saga, which has been one of the virtual landscapes par excellence of the childhood of the millennial generation and Z. This small being is introduced by abducting through the sunset almost raining, giving rise to a collision between digital and physical landscape, and converting both variants into real landscapes. This paint essentially brings together spray and acrylic paint.Casi lloviendo. Caparazón rojo” representa una vista muy recurrente en la cornisa cantábrica que consiste en un momento específico y ocasional donde, después de todo el día lloviendo, la humedad se paraliza durante unos instantes justo al atardecer, y algunos rayos naranjas y rosas atraviesan el cielo nublado, para luego dar paso de nuevo a una noche lluviosa. El caparazón rojo representa uno de los elementos más característicos de la conocida saga de videojuegos de Super Mario, la cual ha sido uno de los paisajes virtuales por excelencia de la infancia de la generación millenial y Z. Este pequeño ser se introduce raptando por el atardecer casi lloviendo, dando pie a una colisión entre paisaje digital y físico, y convirtiendo ambas variantes en paisajes reales. 🇬🇧 We celebrate the beginning of 2025 with the exhibition “Placebo Meadow” by the Asturian artist Alba Matilla @alba.m___ Alba Matilla develops her project around the concept of virtual landscape and its relationship with painting. Starting from digital, “Bliss” is the original name given to the famous photograph of the “Windows Prairie”, taken by Charles O’Rear, and whose literal translation is “happiness”.
