Mormonism is a collection of Biblical concepts that have been taken out of context and corrupted:

Baptisms for the dead, polygamy, celestial /terrestrial kingdoms, the Aaronic priesthood, the Melchizedek priesthood, prophets, apostles, temples, etc…

All of these things are mentioned in the Bible, but the Mormon church never understood what the Bible was actually saying about these things - it just took these words and created whole new doctrines surrounding each.

When it comes to the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthoods - in the context of the Bible - no regular person has these priesthoods. Jesus alone holds the Melchizedek, and no one has the Aaronic in our time. So why is the “restoration of the gospel” (which is a blasphemous idea in the first place) predicated on giving these two priesthoods to mankind? by @exmormonthoughts

I know I make posts about this fairly often, but these are some of the most important points for people who are investigating Mormonism, questioning Mormonism, or are educating themselves about Mormonism in order to help others.

If you have a question about a certain point (such as the source), leave a comment and I will provide LDS references as soon as I can.

I do not doubt that every Mormon has the intent to be - and belief that they are - Christian, but unfortunately, there is no reality where that is the case SO LONG AS they subscribe to the teachings of Joseph Smith, believe the Book of Mormon / Doctrine & Covenants / Pearl of Great Price are scripture, and believe in the “restored gospel” of the Church of Latter-Day Saints. To do any of these is to reject Biblical teachings about God, Jesus, and the Gospel. The New Testament fully contradicts every unique LDS doctrine.

If you are interested in following Jesus, I recommend reading the New Testament in an easy-to-understand translation (like the ESV). by @exmormonthoughts

I’ll post sources and stuff in the comments, but yeah…After ponderizing some of Joseph’s dumber lies, I just feel tired. How can people believe this stuff. How can people believe in Joseph. How can people think Mormonism is just another Christian denomination…the ignorance is exhausting.

It’s funny that so many morms are reeling about Wade’s brother’s talk at conference. Gambling is bad, he said…Well, he’s quite the gambler himself - and encourages others to do the same; betting in the currency of eternal life on the Iies of Joseph Smith. Risky and sinful, indeed, Mr. Fake Apostle Man.

Just a reminder since they’re pushing the “it’s not secret, it’s sacred” thing again. Go and watch the rituals for yourself if you don’t know about them - nothing God does is so creepy, nothing God does is hidden behind a pay wall, nothing God does is so contradictory to Scripture. by @exmormonthoughts

Crazy how they treat their handling of this important historical fact like it was not a massive breach of trust and a decades-long moral faiIure…When I was a kid in the 90s, the leadership knew what Joe was up to and they forcefully told the members that he was NEVER a po*ygam*st - and you could get in serious trouble for saying that he was or even suggesting it. Now, though, they readily admit it (only because the evidence is available to everyone, and denying it would highlight how deceitfuI they are) and laugh at it.

Don’t let ‘em tell you any porkies. Eternal promises were made, eternal promises should be kept...right? And eternal doctrines can’t be tossed out for PR campaigns and corporate rebranding attempts.

Send this to an LDS woman you know and ask her what she thinks about her future of “eternal increase”. Send this to an LDS man you know and ask him what he thinks about being exalted to godhood. They might be for it, they might be against it - but they won’t be able to deny it - because this film was produced, approved, and distributed by the First Presidency of the LDS church.

Gee, I wonder why they suddenly decided to go hard on the “Jesus” art at Temple Square right before the public open house 🤔 One thing’s for certain - they DEFINITELY didn’t do all this just to trick non-members into thinking they’re mainstream Christians now! No way! Why would they do that?

And, by the way, the top leaders DO get paid, so they still have a paid ministry - don’t believe that Iie when you hear it.

*The guy in this video is notorious for embarrassing himself and “the church”, which is probably why he asked that any footage taken of his talk at a recent fireside be destroyed…I can’t even imagine how bad it must have been if even his own self awareness kicked in. by @exmormonthoughts
