🌟 REFERENCE POST 🌟

Might as well do one of these! My first reference post, if I’ve traded with you, bought or sold something to you, would really appreciate if you could leave a quick comment below 🙏- helps build trust for future deals and so people know I’m trustworthy! (Least that’s the hope 😂)

💥DID YOU KNOW?💥

Big shout out to @psapimp for making me aware of this cool detail about Gold Stars! It’s always a pleasure chatting with passionate collectors like him about what we agree are the best cards in the hobby. Also, a HUGE thanks and credit to @kalamarkos for letting me use their incredible picture to highlight these subtle but fascinating differences between EU and US prints of these iconic cards 🙌

While it’s particularly noticeable in the EX Deoxys set, these differences are prevalent across all Gold stars. The differences include:

🎨
1️⃣ The background holo in the EU version has a more blueish tint compared to the US one.
2️⃣ Rayquaza’s body in the example in the EU version has a darker black tone, creating a richer artwork contrast

If you’re Gold Stars 🌟 obsessed like me you’ll appreciate how the clarity of linework and saturation differences make these cards even more distinct.

While some in the community have known this for some time, it’s always fun to revisit these fascinating details. So did you know this and do you prefer the US or EU versions?

💭 Let me know your thoughts on this and whether you’ve spotted similar differences in other sets!
