Celebrating World Food Day with the Kliptown community by getting hands-on with the soil connects people not just to nourishment, but to culture, heritage, and each other.
Planting with intention and recognizing the spiritual connection to food transforms a simple garden activation into a profound act of community resilience and shared identity. There is something truly special about harvesting and eating food grown collectively right from your own neighborhood. #worldfoodday #exoticallydivinepulse #gardenactivation #greensquaremile taken in Kliptown Soweto by @exoticallydivine_pulse

Who gets to breathe clean air in Johannesburg, and who is made to live with the consequences of pollution?
The air carries more than oxygen. It carries histories of extraction, inequality, resistance and life. But what can it teach us about climate justice, and whose knowledge counts in imagining a different future?
Reimagined Learning Community invites children and families on a learning journey through Johannesburg, from Soweto’s streets to the Cradle of Humankind, exploring air through science, ancestral knowledge, play and collective inquiry.
In many Southern African understandings, Umoya speaks to both air and spirit. What happens when we begin to see clean air not as a privilege, but as a shared right and responsibility?
What if children helped us rethink the very systems that make some communities struggle to breathe?
🌱 Join us in learning, questioning and imagining otherwise.
Held by Reimagined Learning Community, in partnership with OKC, Kutasari , Exotically Divine and Sihamba Sifunda.

"The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul."

Everything is growing!
What started with small plants, ideas and collective hands is slowly becoming a living space of growth and connection. A reminder that when we plant something together, we also create possibilities for the future.

🌿 GARDEN ACTIVATION | THE STORY CONTINUES 🌱 There at Main Street in Johannesburg

@jozi_my_jozi thank you for seeing the vision with us. On 12 April and 09 August, we joined Jozi_My_Jozi Open Streets Sunday Main Activation, bringing the garden to life through learning, sharing and hands-on participation. taken in 78 Fox Street, Johannesburg CBD by @exoticallydivine_pulse

Food as heritage is far more than physical fuel—it is a living connection across body, mind, and soul:

Body (Vitality): Traditional, whole ingredients nourish and sustain us without causing heaviness, keeping us attuned to our physical form.
Mind (Comfort): Sensory memory—a familiar aroma, a slow-simmered broth—grounds us instantly, offering emotional safety and presence.
Soul (Heritage): Recreating ancestral recipes reclaims our lineage and identity, transforming daily meals into acts of remembering where we come from.

Choosing food that honors tradition turns eating into a restorative practice of memory and connection. taken in Drill Hall JHB by @exoticallydivine_pulse
