An avid lover of all things sweet created by @nadineingram drew me to her stories last weekend & her sweet contribution to Emma @secon.di gathering for viewing of her new collection. I quickly went online to discover more and now am the very happy owner of a vintage Pierluigi Colli stool with hammered brass detailing, sitting happily near our fire. Love serendipity

Thinking back to Sunday lunch @osteriamucca in an old butcher’s shop, fabulous lighting, tiles, booths and food. Spoilt ourselves with stuffed Hawkesbury squid, duck pappardelle followed by a spicey Italian sausage on a bed of French lentils. Of course no meal is complete without a generous beautifully flavoured tiramisu

Winter time catchups @basindining Mona Vale SLSC with @amanda_lawler and @russellt07 Delicious spicey scallops followed by Sri Lankan Barramundi & Sweet Potato curry and a glass of Nebbiolo, a perfect crisp sunny day lunch for me. Of course the others had Wagyu Steak Frites, cooked over charcoal. Lucky enough for some whale watching as well

We arrived home two weeks ago, a week early due to French air & rail cancellations making our planned viewing of the Tour de France in Quillan totally impossible. The week before last himself came down with the flu and yesterday’s day trip up the peninsula to Palm Beach was his first excursion. Such a stunning day and virtually the place to our selves.

Catching up with celebrity Dan Snow @thehistoryguy @phoeniciamalta on our last night in Valetta at a live event where Dan was joined by Liam Gauci, Prof. Manuel Buttigieg, and Keith Gatt.
Through a selection of extraordinary artefacts - from prehistoric obsidian and Phoenician amphorae recovered from the depths of the Mediterranean to the legendary Tyger Goblet, an Order of St John blunderbuss, Admiral Decres’ presentation sword, and the iconic George Cross presented to Malta - the panel explored the people, conflicts, voyages, and defining moments that shaped Malta’s story.
The evening was presented by @visitmalta & we enjoyed canapés and wine afterwards outside on the terrace on a beautiful balmy night

Playing catch up … mid trip in Malta we headed inland to Mdina the old capital and fortressed city for an overnight stay @palazzobifora That first day we walked around Rabat and visited Domus Romanus just outside the Greek Gate of Mdina. Fabulous mosaics with little intervention and a great peek into Roman life. The town was decorated with flags and statues to celebrate Corpus Christi and looked very festive.
Escaping the heat underground in St Paul’s Catacombs a huge labyrinth of tombs built into the limestone was an eerie experience. That night a lovely dinner Step 15 just outside Mdina’s main gate with a view across to Mosta in the distance
