7 days in a desolate part of BC. This was definitely the most rewarding west coast adventure so far.
100+kms paddled
* I discovered this song in a Grab in Indonesia*

Here are a few memorable moments that made this trip one to remember for me:

• First Chinook Salmon, Ling Cod(s), Rock Fish and Greenling caught (we caught over a hundred fish in a week, it made me realize how wild the fishing can be in coastal waters)

• After searching for mussels for 5 days; waking up to low tide at my new camp and realizing that there was thousands of mussels in the bay directly beside me. I made a mussel mac&cheese

• Using my packraft repair knowledge to repair 1 pinhole caused by a barnacle and then a few days later creating another hole right as we were about to paddle 4 hours!; I patched it with Tyvek tape on the fly, barnacles are sharp!

• Seeing an entire section of water completely full of jellyfish!

• Sharing the water with countless seals, unique birds sqwuaking and even 1 orca off in the distance.

A summer in a special region of Canada.

I had always day dreamed about what life would be like on Vancouver Island, it's something I pondered a lot while living in Whistler -I didn't think I'd like it.

Well, I was wrong; I had no idea what I was missing. After almost a decade of living in a resort town over-run with tourism, the laid back vibe here is exactly what I was missing. Can't wait to move farther north next year and get into some remote areas.

This summer I've fulfilled a decade long dream of harvesting crab in BC. I bought a trap and will be rigging it up to my packraft and hopefully putting it out a few times a week. Coastal life is pretty damn cool by @explore.more3

I found this natural tunnel on the way to a remote beach in Pacific Rim National park.

It reminded me of the forest closing in during the Fellowship of the ring scene, where the Ringwraiths are coming for Frodo. by @explore.more3

A few days of camping in Gulf National park, with a spontaneous 20km circumnavigation of Sidney island.

•Started the route with a 2km portage through thick low tide slop.
•The southern end of the island had some turbulent reefs which seriously chopped me up; def got the heart racing.
•After getting to the east side of Sidney, I had a nice open water crossing right as the wind picked up, that was fun.
•I finished my day at one of the most incredible beaches I've ever seen; eating a meal and watching the Sandpipers feast, as the tide washed over the sandy spit I was just enjoying
•Carrying a 60+lb pack onto the bus+ferry was hectic but I made it happen

This was one of those trips that makes you feel alive.
Vancouver island keeps delivering and I'm just getting started.

Exploring my new home, with my long time homie Tim.
I took my raft into the surf at Sombrio beach, that was quite the experience lol, especially when I decided to catch a few huge waves on my way back in and got flipped pretty fast 😬.

Mt Rinjani, Indonesia with @devonritchie_ and the Bowen homies + Vang Vieng, Laos.

Rinjani was pretty special, I had planned to visit this mountain years ago when I was in Indo( way before I ever got into mountaineering) but it was closed due to volcanic activity. This time I had pre planned my flights and rocked up in Lombok only to find the climbing season for Rinjani had opened 2 days prior, wild timing. I met a group of fine young lads from Bowen Island who were dusting everyone else on the trail to camp, we had to become homies of course. by @explore.more3
