⭐️Edit to add: Ballast Park is ONLY gated around the splash pad! Sorry for the mistake!

With the help of a local Tampa Bay moms group, I compiled a list of all the fully fenced parks with a locking gate. I apologize if the area is wrong for any!

Elopment is a large concern in the autistic community, so that’s why it’s imperative to know where all the gated parks are.

Have you heard? The Sensory Friendly Zone is back for round 2 at Halloween on Central with @grandcentralsp!

At the end of the line of all the Halloween fun and after @sunshinecitywithkids’ BOO-Levard Of Play, come join the Sensory Zone. No music, areas of sensory play, low key fun and our Calm Canopy to reset in.

Safari Games is back!

Every year, @junglegym.ninja hosts the @safarigamesfl especially for ninjas with physical or developmental disabilities. Each athlete get a volunteer (if needed) and there’s lots of encouragement, cheering, support and fun! We had a blast last year.

It’s for ages 5+ and will be held this year on December 5th, 2026. Dm @safarigamesfl or email SafariGamesFL@gmail.com to sign up or for more questions on games, prizes, volunteering or sponsoring.
They are also looking for more inclusive vendors!

This is truly such a great experience and coach @camerondrake does a fantastic job.

Hot take:

Just because you
•added one day of sensory play
•would “allow autistic children”
•”they are more than welcome here!”
Does not make you sensory friendly.

Saying is one, ACTUALLY ACCEPTING autistic people and having actual accomodations is another. I’ve had so many events and establishments say they are autism friendly with zero accountability or responsibility if someone actually came in.

i’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, being “autism friendly” is not a buzz word. It’s an actual way of life. I’m not promoting things for funsies. Actual neurodivergent and disabled people will show up to these places, including me and my autistic son.

Our second annual Sensory Friendly Halloween Party at @brighterdaysbrewco was a SMASH 🎃

We had limited attendance, sensory play, pumpkin painting, low music, and a calming tent for anyone that needed it. Everyone deserves to celebrate and be included, and we did exactly that!

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone that came out. All donations from the tickets went to scholarships with @heart4kidstherapy 🧡
