Bhagavathipuram is a small village near Tenkasi. Lush green fields greet us as we make our way into the village. Naleef who is famous for playing Kiran in the serial Mounaragam, takes us through the sights and sounds of Bhagavathipuram. More about the place in forthcoming episodes. This is the 2nd part of our Kolukkumalai trek. Woke up early and got to see a beautiful sun rise. The place was teeming with people of all shades and sizes. Meet Chandran master, a retired teacher in Edappal, Kerala. At a time when pesticide use is rampant, master has stood form in advocating Organic farming. Along with his wife, master works tirelessly in his small farm, growing vegetables and varieties of rice without the use of harmful pesticides. Take a look at his lifestyle. This is the Kuthiran tunnel, Kerala's first road tunnel. It is located on the NH 544 between Thrissur and Palakkad districts.
The combined length of the twin tunnels is approximately 1.5 km. Being located in the Western

Ponmudi (the golden peak) is a hill station located in the Trivandrum district of Kerala. It is located around 60 km east of Trivandrum city. It is an extension of the Western Ghats. One has to navigate through 22 hairpin bends en route to Ponmudi. The scenery is breath-taking and is full of tea plantations.

The Kollam Sengottai railway route is one of the most beautiful train routes in the country. We saw the majestic Punalur Suspension bridge, the 13 Arch Bridge and were then mesmerized by the beauty of a quaint little village called Bhagavathipuram, which is actually before Sengottai. The locals, especially children were very friendly and helpful.
