pub🇬🇧 I never thought I’d still be breastfeeding a year later, especially after such a challenging and painful first month… 🍒 And when people ask me when I plan to stop? 🍼 The truth is… I don’t know. Because breastfeeding isn’t just about feeding. It’s comfort, connection, presence, and love. But we rarely talk about the moments of doubt, the exhaustion, the difficult conversations, the financial challenges, the sleepless nights, or the seasons when choosing each other requires a conscious effort 😌 Maybe that’s why there are so many divorces today… Not because people have stopped believing in love, but because we often forget that loving someone is more than just a feeling. It’s a decision. It’s showing up. It’s staying. The true meaning of “in sickness and in health” isn’t found in the vows we make on our wedding day. 🇬🇧 12 months of Romeu’s life and 12 lessons we learned along the way…1. No one arrives prepared, and that’s okay. No matter how many books you read or courses you take, accept that you’re going to be feeling your way through this. That doesn’t make you a worse parent, it just makes you human. Every baby is different, every experience will be unique, and there’s no way to prepare for all the variables 😌2. Accepting help isn’t weakness, it’s intelligence. The grandmother who wants to take him for an afternoon, the friend who brings dinner, the service that handles the laundry… say yes. Delegate. The “we’ve got this on our own” myth costs you dearly in sleep, patience, and your relationship 💔3. The first smile makes it all worth it. Just when you think you can’t take any more, suddenly you’ll have fuel for weeks. Save those moments. Film them. You’ll need them every time you feel low. 🥹4. Sleep regressions are real, but they do pass. You’re not doing anything wrong. There’s nothing to “fix.” It’s just a phase, like so many others to come. 🙃5. Take care of the couple before the couple needs taking care of. The relationship that brought you here needs maintenance. Stop putting off the dinner for two, the conversation that isn’t about diapers, the unhurried hug. Your baby needs parents who are well, not parents who are perfect. ❤️‍🔥6. Starting solids is a marathon, not a sprint. There will be days when nothing goes in his mouth. Days when he spits everything out. Days when he eats things you never expected. Trust the process, offer variety, and take the pressure off. Have you ever met an adult who doesn’t eat? 😅7. The house is going to belong more to the baby than to you. Adapt the space instead of saying “no” 200 times a day. Less stress for everyone. 🥳8. Separation anxiety isn’t manipulation. When he cries because you leave the room, he isn’t playing games with you. 🇬🇧 Money doesn’t buy everything, but it does buy a lot of things. And the best thing it can bring is freedom. Freedom to say “no” without fear. To be present for the moments that truly matter. To travel without asking permission from the calendar. To help your family without doing the math first. To sleep without the constant anxiety of “what if we run out?”. To support people and projects that make the world a little better. Money doesn’t change who we are. But it changes the way we live. And when used with intention, it buys time, peace, and options. And maybe that’s the true definition of wealth: having the freedom to live life on our own terms 🙏🇵🇹 O dinheiro não compra tudo, mas compra muita coisa! E o melhor que pode trazer é liberdade!
