Stepping back in time through the silent streets of Mdina 🏰

Known as Malta’s “Silent City,” Mdina is packed with centuries of history, stunning architecture, and incredible views. Walking through its ancient walls, it’s easy to see why this magical city was chosen as a filming location for Game of Thrones.

Exploring it together as a family made it even more special, wandering the narrow streets, soaking up the history, and sharing unforgettable moments in one of Malta’s most beautiful places. ❤️🇲🇹

40 trips around the sun deserved somewhere special… and Malta was everything we hoped for and more. 🇲🇹❤️

From wandering the colourful streets of St Julian’s, getting lost in the timeless beauty of Valletta, stepping back through history in Birgu and the silent city of Mdina, to embracing our inner kids at Popeye Village, every day was filled with unforgettable family moments.

Malta may be one of Europe’s smallest countries, but it’s packed with over 7,000 years of history. Influenced by the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Knights of St John, the French and the British, every cobbled street and golden limestone building has a story to tell. Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage city, was built by the Knights after the Great Siege of 1565, while Mdina’s peaceful alleyways feel like stepping onto a film set frozen in time.

This trip was full of milestones too…
✈️ Maisie’s first trip abroad (and already her 4th country!)
🌍 Eliza’s 15th country
🧳 My 45th country
🎉 And a birthday I’ll never forget celebrating with my favourite people at the most amazing hotel - @maltamarriott 🙌

The memories we’ve made exploring, laughing, swimming, eating way too many pastizzi and soaking up the Mediterranean sunshine will stay with us forever.

If I mess this up, I could end up in hospital… 🤕🌍

From skateboarding and kayaking to exploring incredible places around the world, adventure is a huge part of my life. But adventure comes with risks, and when you’re travelling overseas, even a small accident can become a big problem.

The great part about being back in Edinburgh is that you can explore new places and catch the things you missed last time.

We had a great time exploring the city again, spending some time admiring the quaint Dean Village, and of course taking the girls to see the castle.

I couldn’t contain my excitement to finally stay at @theroseateedinburgh 🤩

Having stayed at the London, Bath and Reading Roseate’s we were really excited to stay here and enjoy its luxury that they are known for.

With warm cosy fires, super friendly staff, beautiful rooms and yummy afternoon teas you’re always guaranteed a great time.

Spending quality time with the family at @theroseateedinburgh 🤩🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We love staying at Roseate’s as they are super homely, spacious quirky rooms, delicious food and incredibly friendly staff. The Edinburgh hotel was no different and the standards were very high. Did I mention they are part of @smallluxuryhotels 🥳

As a family we had the best time with lots of laughter and creating plenty of memories.

If you’re heading to Edinburgh then I can highly suggest this hotel.

Scotland you absolute beaut! 🤩

It was so exciting to be back in Edinburgh and staying at the incredible and deeply impressive @caledonianedinburgh.

Overlooking the Edinburgh castle our room couldn’t be more perfect! The staff literally couldn’t enough for us, to the point where they saw we had made makes shift barriers for Eliza on her bed and they provided side bars without being promoted. The food was delicious, every morning started with a swim and we couldn’t have been more central if we tried.
