We got to try Matcha Yume when they popped up at SMASH a couple of weeks ago. The matcha itself was unfortunately pretty weak, particularly the honeycomb one; we could only taste milk with a hint of honeycomb (which you can kinda tell from the colour).

The triple matcha was better- you could taste the matcha flavour which was smooth and mellow, but honestly, it was the strength we’d expect from a regular matcha, not a drink with three matcha aspects.

Unfortunately, the most disappointing thing for us was the cost… We are ALL for supporting small businesses and totally understand that there would be vendor fees and the like… but these drinks cost $15.90 and $14.90 and that was /before/ the $3 option to upgrade to a higher quality matcha 😭

Overall, the matcha was decent. Definitely better than the powdered stuff you get at a local cafe. But the ratio was unfortunately off, where you couldn’t enjoy the flavour of the matcha.

Sydney’s got no shortage of Thai spots, but Khao Man Kai in Haymarket keeps coming up whenever fresh seafood gets mentioned. Went in curious about their raw salmon, stayed for way more than I planned, homemade prawn donuts, a crispy pork snack that’s stuck with me since, and a dessert that somehow ended up being the whole point of the trip. If you’re after one of the better Thai restaurants in Sydney right now, this one’s earning the hype.

Ate this entire meal with @yenlyytran / @yentran.ugc, no regrets, no leftovers. She’s on Insta and TikTok too if you want more.

finally ticked off this iconic inner west gem that’s been on my list ⭐️🍽️

we ordered the politiko kebab pita (lamb and beef) and the olympic meats special snack pack (chicken and pork), and both were packed with flavour. the meat was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and paired so well with the fresh pita and crispy chips.

the team was incredibly welcoming and kept checking in to make sure we were enjoying our meal, which made the whole experience even better.

if you’re looking for a quality souvlaki or a loaded snack pack, olympic meats is definitely worth adding to your list if you’re in the area!
