onX Offroad + Toyota’s Trail Revival Project stepped in to help protect one of the areas OHV users love most.

Surrounding private property owners faced significant sustainability challenges from OHV use in the meadow. Many illegal spur trails were appearing, compacting the soil and preventing native grasses and plants from growing. So we sat down with them, listened, and built a scope of work to make it right — blocking off illegal trails and routes without closing the legal trails, mitigated damage to the meadows, and reseeded portions of the meadow to help it recover.

This isn’t just restoration — it’s relationship building. Work like this goes a long way toward sustained cooperation between the OHV community, private landowners, and land managers, so this area can stay open and accessible for riders for years to come.

Access isn’t guaranteed — it’s earned, one project at a time. 🛻🌱

Since storms are frequent in the mountains and we travel there often, it is important to know when the weather is going to change.

We use the Historic Wildfire Layer a lot. We have been traveling around Northern California lately and since there has been a ton of fires in the past, a lot of trails can be impassable.

Turn the Historic Wildfire Layer on to see where the fires have been.

Hitting more info on the Layer will help you determine how old the fire damage is. Most recent can possibly mean the trails are still covered with debris and impassable. The older they are, the likelihood of them being cleared goes way up.

Going through an older burned area can show you that nature finds its way back.

If you drive on the edge of the fire line you can be in the middle of untouched forest and forest touched by the fires.
