Public Statement by Kehinde Ogunniyi (EXPY)

As we step into 2026, I extend my heartfelt greetings to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora. This new year presents another opportunity for reflection, responsibility, and renewed commitment to the progress of our dear country, Nigeria.

Despite the challenges confronting our nation, I remain confident and hopeful that Nigeria will be better. This belief is rooted not in mere optimism, but in the conviction that sustainable national development is achievable when citizens remain engaged, demand accountability, and actively participate in governance and civic processes. A better society can only be built when the people refuse apathy and choose involvement.

I wish to clearly reaffirm my unwavering membership and loyalty to the Young Progressives Party (YPP). The YPP remains the political platform that aligns with my values of youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, integrity, innovation, and good governance. I remain committed to contributing meaningfully to the growth and innovative ideals for a better society.

For the avoidance of doubt, rumours suggesting that I have defected to another political party or might defect to another party are entirely false and unfounded.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of travelling to numerous countries and places, gaining firsthand exposure to how societies function, how leadership and governance work in practice, and most importantly, how leaders understand, serve, and connect with their people. These experiences have broadened my perspective beyond theory, helping me appreciate what works, what does not, and how systems can be structured to truly serve citizens. They continue to shape my approach to leadership, service, and national development.

At this stage of my journey, I am focused on combining experience from business, social impact initiatives, and leadership to continue serving the people and strengthening democratic accountability. My commitment remains centred on service, integrity, and contributing positively to national development.
