Taking my IBE®️ Masters opened my eyes to so many new possibilities, and experimenting with customized placements has been a GAME CHANGER!

This client was struggling to keep her second row concealed with her busy cheerleading lifestyle, but still needed 2 rows to achieve her desired length and volume. The solution? STACKING! 🙌🏼

By stacking her rows, we created more natural hair coverage to keep her extensions seamless, even with her active lifestyle!

The difference is in the details. 🤍
These two photos may both be called “IBE®️” by some, but they are not the same technique.
A healthy extension installation isn’t simply about hiding beads or creating a beautiful look. It is SO much more.
With a properly installed IBE®️ row, we’re looking for clean, intentional sectioning, seamless grow out, and placement designed to support the extension hair while prioritizing the integrity of the natural hair and scalp.
When extensions are installed with poor placement, uneven tension, or improper weight distribution, you may see irritation, matting, excessive pulling and stress on the natural hair like what you can see in the second photo.

As professional hairstylists, we have a responsibility to prioritize our clients safety and the health of their natural hair. That means asking ourselves honestly: are we comfortable with a client leaving our chair like this?

“IBE®” doesn’t always mean the same thing to everyone. It can be easy to see photos of the method and think it’s something you can recreate, but there is so much more to IBE® than what you see on the surface.

The hours of education, one to one training, conversations with other artists, continued learning, and understanding the why behind every detail of the install.

Placement matters. Tension matters. Weight distribution matters. And above everything, the health of the client’s natural hair matters.

IBE® isn’t simply a certain bead or stitch pattern it’s a complete method built around intentional placement and protecting the natural hair.

As stylists, we’re always learning and growing. There’s nothing wrong with not knowing something yet but when it comes to our clients hair and scalp health, proper education should always come first. 🤍

A few reposts today because the IBE® 2026 Awards open today… and a girl’s gotta try! 🤭🏆✨

This transformation looked impossible at first but strategic placement changed everything.

With a very deep cowlick and compromised, thin, fine hair, this client came in with two major challenges and one clear goal. The priority was creating the transformation she wanted without sacrificing the health of her natural hair.

By working with her natural growth pattern instead of against it, we were able to safely achieve a beautiful, seamless result and this is still one of my favorite creative placements to date. 🤍

This is exactly why I love IBE®: the right placement can completely change what’s possible.
