EXTINCTION BURST
2019-2025
So after a lot of going back and forth this year, I’ve decided to end EB. The chronological order will be a bit off but we still have the following at the plant:
FADING FAST 7” - arriving any day
PURE MOTIVE 12” - records are in hand just waiting for inserts to be done.
DAIEI SPRAY/i RECOVER 7” - January
PERRO MUNDO 7” - February
Why not wait until February to announce? I just wanted to bring the label to a close and start the new year fresh. I don’t know how long I will keep the store open for. Could be a year or just a few months. I guess it all depends on how I’m feeling at the time. After that, what ever is left will be archived. I want to thank every single band and person who entrusted us with their releases, music and art enough to represent you and I really hope we did good by you.
We started this project as a way for us to physically document what bands we were playing in at the time and to mentor and help out any local bands that really spoke to us. Never did we expect to release the catalog we did, and especially from bands outside the HD/IE.
Why are we shutting it down? There’s a lot of reasons which I’ve had conversations with some of you already, but in the end, regardless of why, it just feels right and I’m at peace with it. We did what we could and I really feel years from now, some kid from the Desert will learn about EB and it’ll spark something in them.
Thank you @wisecrackrecords. Thank you to all the members who were part of C47. We created something that no one can ever take from us. Thank you @highdesertcalifornia for helping us create the Inland Sound. Thank you to every person who I’ve met through EB regardless if it was a good or bad experience, it’s still an experience that I learned from. Lastly and most importantly THANK YOU to my wife @dayna.yr my kids @caylin_yr @gabrianyr and @coolio_chavez for helping get this label started with me and allowing me to create beyond anything I could’ve imagined. Now go support your friends projects before they disappear! Hype them up. You don’t need that 20th variant of “We’re Not In This Alone”

Un abrazo

Starting with tomorrow’s newsletter, we will start scaling back our social media presence. We will still have our IG account open but we truly want to slowly move away from the dependency of using IG to share what we create. We want to build a community with ppl who actually want to support what we do and in return give you the best art, music, substance and some cool shit while we’re still alive.

From now on any pre-orders or news, will be sent via email through our news letter. The only time we’ll post a release on IG is when it is physically out. Otherwise you will only hear about it through our news letter and you will be able to jump on the pre-order price. Is this a stupid idea???? I don’t know yet. But I know I (Raymon) feel burned out by social media. It makes me depressed and unmotivated to do anything. So this is my way to personally get back to learning and growing and maybe grow EB with like minded ppl. Stay safe, Free Palestine and Fuck ICE by @extinction_burrst

My wife @dayna.yr entered a raffle in support of VIP Music and it’s amazing programs, in partnership with Fingerprints Music & Pete Deeble Furniture. Imagine her total and utter surprise when she won!! We feel so grateful to finally own a Pete Deeble piece and look forward to many more. Through this raffle VIP managed to raise over $4K for their music education program in Long Beach ,CA. Please support these amazing businesses and nonprofit.

PERRO MUNDO
“Xicago” EP
OUT NOW!

Chicago’s punk and hardcore history is one that has always carved its own unique path. Always putting a distinctive spin on it. Something you can’t quite pin down or box in but when you hear it, it’s undeniably mid west. Perro Mundo follow that tradition while adding their own spin on a genre that at times can easily fall victim to complacency. The band will be playing their record release show on 3/7. Only 200 copies pressed. Get your dance on! by @extinction_burrst

EB07-2275

5 Tracks of blistering Desert Hardcore. Pulling influence from late 80’s NYHC, Fading Fast is not another “paying homage” band, they are a true bi-product of desert life: harsh, dusty and suffocating.
Play fuckin loud!!!

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Brad Racine at Local Man Studios
Mastered for vinyl by Will Killingsworth
Artwork by Taylor Soul

EB12-2073

Formed in 2023, tethered played their first shows that Summer and recorded a six song demo - released on cassette and digital platforms via SNCL Records later that year.

These 10 new songs Extinction Burst brings you is their debut LP that draw
influences by a bunch of bands across the hardcore spectrum, but draw particularly heavily from the Ebullition and Gravity Record sound of the 90s/00s, DC/Rev Summer emocore and the bands of Sarah Kirsch (Bread & Circuits, Torches To Rome etc.). A win for hardcore!

Order link in bio!!!

released October 31, 2025
tethered are:
Rose (vocals), James (drums), Andy (bass) and Pablo (guitar).

Recorded and mixed by Ben Spence at Fuzzbrain Studios in January and June 2025

Mastered by Will Killingsworth @dead_air_studios by @extinction_burrst
