Inspiration comes from anyone and anywhere. One of my most favorite parts of preproduction for @plasmapenbyglenn was grabbing lunch with cinematographer @blunden and nerding out about movies and our favorite shots.

It also makes it much easier to send references to team members like @shadowgraph.studios when asking him to make a goblet light on fire like in “Green Knight”. Or sending gifs from music videos to reference lighting with Ben.

My dear friend @plasmapenbyglenn who I previously did a project with (Killer Hair by Mister Hyde) was involved in a car accident that left him with chronic pain and made it difficult to stand for long periods of time to do hair. Thankfully he found love in a career he’s dabbled in for several years, but has now made it his primary–skincare.

This year’s pro-bono project is an extra special one. I pulled out every stop, asked the best people I know available, from every phase of my life to collaborate on this project. My mom is this! My old high school prom date is in this! Glenn, you have my full support and I wish you the best in this next career chapter. I poured my heart into this project and I hope it shows.

The @asianamericansareamerican project started back in 2021 with @onlytodaytv It was refreshed this year for AAPI Heritage Month in collaboration with @metaprosper and @barretthofherr

As someone who was threatened on the street just last week for merely existing as an Asian American, this work will never not be relevant.

All things being equal, this video would not need to be made. But things are not equal. And we’ve gotta come together on what we have in common—not what makes us different. All love 🫶 by @extrafancybrian

Fellow creators understand “the moment”. When you find that thing you were looking for and things come together like jazz. It’s like christmas ☺️

When I worked in advertising, casting for “diversity” never meant casting asian actors. Representation matters.

I finished this project just before the start of the pandemic. It never felt right to publicly share this project until now. Since vaccines are becoming more widespread and California’s numbers have dropped significantly, I feel like now is the right time to share it.

Support small businesses and visit Vetiver Salon & Spa in Oakland. Both Barbie and Tuesday (owners) are fully vaccinated and have a big, airy space they work out of.

My submission video to portfolio school turned 10 years old!
I cringe so hard at basically everything I did, but to this day it remains one of my most fun projects and got me (eventually) to where I am today. by @extrafancybrian

I’m not the best artist, but I try to sketch out storyboards whenever I can. Even on personal projects—it really helps to get me and the crew on the same page so that there are no surprises on the day of shooting. .
