Over 100 pages later. ✍🏾

As we wrap our 4th issue of @extraman, I think back to 2021 and my decision to pivot from music to comic books, having never done this before, mind you. Everything I needed (iPad and Apple Pencil) I got on ‘buy now, pay later’ because I knew I had to JUST START. I actually got scammed on the first iPad I bought, in an attempt to get it cheaper from a stranger. The shit didn’t even arrive. But I didn’t let all that deter me. One of the greatest creative ideas ever was itching to be realised. Along with the buzz online, a multitude of characters and the world had been built, so by the time we made it out of the pandemic, the print run and launch of Extraman #1 were fully funded and the fan base was growing fast.

5 years later, I couldn’t be more grateful for the support we’ve garnered, more proud of everything @glenpulsemurphy and I have built with @kindredcomics, and more confident in the skill set I’ve refined through countless hours of drawing, inking, colouring and lettering the most iconic superhero concept since Spider-Man. Yeah, I said it.

THE FINAL PAGES ARE DONE and I’m back to feeling like the best in the biz. 😂🔥✍🏾

Like I said in my previous post, EXTRAMAN #4 has been a test. But hey, we didn’t make it this far not to win the whole damn ting! Issue 4 is currently under review (quadruple checking artwork and proof reading from top to bottom) and once that’s done, we’ll be going straight to print THIS WEEK! 🙏🏾

Seriously, @glenpulsemurphy and I cannot thank you all enough for baring with us, pre-ordering issue 4, and buying the other issues to make sure you’re all caught up. I’m so proud of this 4th instalment of Extraman’s story, and this has set the bar even higher for issue 5, which will complete EXTRAMAN Vol. 1 (more details on that in the coming months).

Stay tuned and I’ll keep the images coming. As always… it’s boom time, baby!

A “labour of love” is an absolute understatement.

This 4th issue has been the most challenging chapter of my comic book creator journey thus far. Every day that it’s been delayed has weighed heavy on my mind, and I truly hope everyone knows how grateful I am to my bff/business partner, as well as the fans for allowing me the time to juggle life, work, move house, and everything else it takes for us to create and perfect a comic book issue. There is no inker, colourist or letterer I can lean on. The art is all me, no AI, so I sincerely apologise for the hold up.

I hope these images somehow outline why it’s taken way longer than I anticipated, especially when I assuredly announced that June would see its release. This is indeed the best issue to date, as promised. Not for the art alone, but due to the layers we’re peeling back with our beloved protagonists. The plot indeed thickens and we know you, the reader, will enjoy it.

This comic book journey is not for the faint hearted but @extraman is one of my greatest and most proud pieces of work and I can’t wait to look back when it’s GLOBAL and say WE DID THAT! So I just finished watching the season finale of @theboystv this weekend in-between all of my photography editing and WOW it is an end to an era. I still remember when @glenpulsemurphy and I watched the sneak peak pilot of episode 1 at @mcmcomiccon back in 2019. Feels like a lifetime ago! I don’t think I’ve watched a live-action superhero genre show with as much shock factor #TheBoys.
