The Demon 5.13a👹✅
When I started climbing I always thought that this grade was beyond me, but today I proved myself wrong! A short and mean climb overall, excited to have cleaned up this New Mexico classic⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very happy to have been able to share this moment with @dillonauta , who was willing to come out and just belay me before his shift today. He’s been belaying me through most of my climbing journey, from my first shaky trad leads all the way through now. I’m truly grateful for the friends and community I’ve made through this sport.

Special thanks to @adrenalinejerry for the photos from last weekend when I was working the climb and couldn’t have until I sent. Also thanks to @sandy.baggins who helped me work out the upper beta that I was struggling on.

Proud to have sent my first 5.12- on gear this past weekend. I had worked Autumn Ivy a few times on toprope but not with any consistency to feel confident for the lead. The weekend before I went out with Brendon and was falling all over the place on toprope. I told myself I just needed to lead it and with some gear help from Mike it went down first go! The clips are of the lower and upper crux sections. A nice little treat to myself as I go into my first week of my masters program and warp up the summer.

Grateful to have these mountains in my backyard. Thanks to @natemmarti for the video and @mike.russo40 for the belay. #sendwings taken in Sandia Mountains by @ey_libed

Finally got it done! Absolute mega day out climbing the Casual Route on the Diamond. My lack of exposure to altitude really stood out and I was definitely struggling. Riley kept the stoke high and took the reins on the crux pitch for me. Overall it was an unforgettable adventure and I’m incredibly grateful to have shared it with one of my best friends.

“We feared the enormity of the wall, we were awestruck by it, and we were very aware that no one had ventured a wall so steep and so vast” - Royal Robbin’s

This past week I went out to Yosemite with the goal of climbing Half Dome via the Regular Northwest Face 5.9 C2 with my long time friend Riley. Riley had been working on his big wall skills for a while now and was committed to doing the route in a day. I was pretty skeptical if I could keep up but wanted to go on this adventure with him and support in the way that I felt capable. After a practice run up the Southwest Face of Washington Column in 10 hours, we decided to go for the in a day push on Half Dome.

We hiked up the Muir Slabs with 50lb bags the day before and fixed the first couple pitches. The day came and we quested off!
Despite the fact that I climbed about half the pitch count, Riley essentially took on 70% of the difficulty as I jugged behind him. After 16.5 hours on the wall we topped out in ripping alpine winds, headlamps on, and huge sense of relief. Truly an experience that I’ll never forget.

M.S. in Statistics✅
This degree meant a lot to me. Initially in my first semester back I wasn’t sure if I could really see it through since I had taken some time off of school and was constantly play catch up with my peers. But I was encouraged to really stick with it and I’m glad that I did. I’m not one to really write about my struggles on here but aside from school, life has thrown a lot of things my way over the last year. I’m very grateful for all the support from my family and friends that gave me the strength I needed both in and outside of school❤️‍🔥

Also I think I’m going to be taking a prolong break from this app. So if you want my number feel free to shoot me a message! taken in University of New Mexico by @ey_libed

Just like that, Capulin season is gone in a blink of an eye, until next year I guess.

Back in 2023, Christian and I took an impromptu trip to Sedona to climb some desert towers. I was a relatively newer trad leader at the time, and the trip was very impactful for me in the world of adventure climbing. It was also one of the last times Christian climbed for a variety of personal reasons.

Sometime in the summer, Christian asked me if I wanted to climb all the Bridger Jacks in Indian Creek since he and Erin were thinking of giving their baby the middle name Bridger and he hadn’t climbed any of them before. We trained consistently in the gym over the past couple of months, but climbing in the desert is a different game.

Going into the trip, I was a bit mentally frayed from school and life, which made climbing crumbling towers a bit mentally taxing. We took a more “free as can be” approach to the trip since it was more about getting on top of the towers. We managed to climb 5 out of the 7 towers over the past couple of days. While Bridger might not be the name they end up going with, it was a pleasure to share another tower climbing adventure with Christian. Wishing him the best of luck as he steps into the world of fatherhood next month❤️ by @ey_libed

What an absolutely magnificent place, so grateful I got to kick off my summer by spending a week in a Yosemite with @shark_wallace .
I was battling some injuries during the trip, so it forced me to slow down and really enjoy the valley for what it is. Don’t get me wrong I still got plenty of climbing in, but it felt more like a vacation compared to my usual objective based climbing trip. Now I just can’t wait to get back and climb something bigger.

Im lucky to be celebrating 5 years with the most incredible person I’ve ever met. Who would’ve thought responding to a song I shared during quarantine would lead us here. You’ve taught me so much over the years, how to be kinder, to listen, coffee, and love someone unconditionally. I’m thankful to start and end each one of my days with someone who has endless compassion and empathy for the world. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without your support and love.
I feel so blessed to have had these past years together, I can’t wait for what the future holds for the two of us.
I love you Gabby❤️‍🔥

Starting the season with a proper Sandia beat down linking Slipping into Darkness with The Odyssey. Got the real adventure climbing experience on The Shield with a dirty/awkward “5.9” pitch and later took a toaster sized block to the head while following. Super thankful for @brandon.k.gabel taking us to the top on the later half when I had to take the backseat from leading. Topped it all off with walking out in the dark. All in all, a full value day climbing with a new friend!
