(a more readable pdf version is available in my bio)

Firstly, I made this in July—part of a school assignment, printed on 5 large A3 boards. Simply never posted it till I was satisfied with what I wanted to tell. Even so, after already completing everything, I was still contemplating if I wanted to post this. But I’m keeping to my own word, thus I will.

Before the year ends, I wanted to acknowledge and simultaneously move pass this portion of my life, of which I can simply now call, a side of me. Many of you may already know me as weird or sometimes extreme, but if you know me even further back, i believe to be more so. But it wasn’t without reason. To me, I’ve always felt somewhat tormented, unrelational/anti-social and definitely misunderstood. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still practically almost still the same.

Then what’s the point of this post? To shine some light on a part of myself, my history and symbolically let go. The belief of a self destructive mindset that the only path to personal salvation (whatever that means to you) is suffering.

This post is really for whoever wants to know more about me and also simultaneously reflect on themselves. I don’t expect everyone to read it let alone finish it. Still, if you read it, I hope it also impacts you positively and made you reflect.

This work is very personal which is why I held off on it until I was satisfied. Thanks for reading. by @saywhatcypher

Let's Funk 'N' Go🔥
Super24 2022

To be honest, when I first heard of S24 I didn't know what it was. I didn't understand it's implications & what would come out of me for the next 3 months. All I had in my head was that it was a big dance competition with tons of people watching. Nonetheless, I joined. Still very much in the dark, I trusted that I'll enjoy the process, hoped for the best & eventually came to grow in very unexpected ways. To make my 3 month experience brief, there were many ups and downs that made me doubt myself, the chroeography & occasionally the team. It made me lose faith & sometimes, my enjoyment practicing as well but miraculously, things went back on track faster than I would have expected & as for my own doubts in myself, there were incredible people who were there with me almost every step of the way. I cannot give enough thanks to my INSANELY INCREDIBLE teammates that stuck around the whole damn time & saw it through to the bloody end. We truly achieved what we wanted to do, to put out a freakin good show, represent locking in S24 & showcase our love & funked up energy for this dance. Possibly even interest people to start locking 😏. Either way, I cannot be more grateful to this team. I literally have so many things I can thank each & every person for in this team for each person has truly impacted and helped me in one way or another but alas, word count.

A brief special thank u to those who were absurdly impactful to me throughout this
journey:

@christopherjesse_ for believing in us all & especially me to perform for S24 when I've never really performed before.

@dj.gmak for not giving up in trying to help me focus & rely on myself more

@callmezeph Ok this dumbass funkin crazy la, he handles the logistics, takes initiative in many things, takes charge in cleaning all our moves at once & still helps out so many people 1 on 1. He's just an extraordinary dude and that's why he's our team captain and I'm glad & honoured to be his partner.

@j.phunk because he's been w/ me way too long

And the prayer group @mesalisa @trxcy_c @eireneyy @callmezeph @j.phunk @christopherjesse_ & sometimes @buymechoco lol

On 14 Jan 2024, our street dancers took to the CentreStage, Peace Centre @playpan.co for the very last time for a Cypher Dance Jam in their last #danceforgood in this #mallforgood

It was tough to bid goodbye to the @playpan.co stage that brought people together. A place that connects dancers and audience - everyone being so sporting, loving and encouraging #playforgood

It’s even tougher to condense 2 hours of fun into a 90sec reel. If you would like to see more of the fun, laughter and dance moves, comment MORE below and if requests are overwhelming, a PART 2 will follow!
