Really happy to have put “Algorapture: Syntax and the City” together with @97kobo.lab at Museum MACAN on the final weekend of August. got to see people make music and visuals with code in real time, while I quietly tried to understand what the hell was happening and end up trying making one too…

Got to join a Butoh workshop at SIPFest 2026, led by Semimaru, Taiki, and Makoto from Sankai Juku.

Never danced before, so I was honestly a little intimidated at first. We learned some of the basic “gymnastics” exercises used in Sankai Juku’s Butoh training, well damn, you really need a strong core for this… 💀

Its physically exhausting, but so much fun. I think what drew me to Butoh in the first place is how it treats the body not just as a tool for movement, but as something to experience, something ugly could be beautiful.

What started as an impromptu trip with some friends from work, mostly as a little getaway, turned into a chance to learn about the Kanekes people (aka Baduy people) and their beliefs.

Special s/o to @sababaduyofficial for the amazing trip and ‘reach your dream’ squad 🫶

Also stayed in Baduy Dalam with Ayah and Ambu, where any kind of documentation isn’t allowed. No photos, so I guess I’ll just have to keep the memories in my head.

One phrase that stuck with me:

“Lojor teu meunang dipotong, pondok teu meunang disambung.”

The long must not be cut, the short must not be lengthened.

Kept thinking about what that phrase means in practice. There is a strong commitment to keeping things as they are, even as the world around Kanekes keeps changing.

wonder if that commitment can also be understood as a form of resistance, especially when it comes to government, development, and the pressure to adapt. (Yeah… fuck capitalism)

there’s something political in simply saying, “this is how we choose to live, and we’re going to keep it that way.”

A pretty interesting thing to think about on Independence Day.

I would call that “Resistance Within Resistance”
Like idk feel like resistance can exist within another form of resistance.

We named him Agus, from Agustusan taken in Baduy, Kanekes, Leuwidamar, Lebak Banten rno by @ezra1000000

first solo trip to jogja 🤍

stayed at @rumahpelesir and i think it ended up being my favorite part of the trip.

didn’t expect to spend so much time just hanging around the house, but that’s exactly what happened. thanks to @anjaswibisana , i also got to meet @euhemeris , @putra_arhiedsta , @kanutama , and @dyas_js . lots of random conversations, good food, and hearing everyone’s stories about living in jogja.

also spent way too much time just sitting outside, looking at the rice fields and watching the farmers work. coming from jakarta, that slower pace felt really refreshing.

already looking forward to the next jogja trip. thanks for having me 🫶 taken in Yogyakarta by @ezra1000000
