Help us bring DUST: An Accidental Time Capsule to life this North Texas Giving Day!

In 2019, during a historic building renovation in Corsicana, Texas, an incredible treasure trove was pulled from the debris: over 400 envelopes of unclaimed film and photographs dating from 1943 - 1968. This forgotten cache became an “accidental time capsule” of post-war America - capturing everyday life in Texas, family road trips, ranching, civil rights, veterans returning home, inter-faith relations, high school dances, and parades down main street… Each photograph tells a story, taken together they a rich chronicle of Texas.

Now, Full Frame Foundation @f3org is working to to tell the story of these forgotten photographs through the feature documentary film, DUST: An Accidental Time Capsule.

This North Texas Giving Day, you can help us discover the hidden stories behind these photographs and share this important record of Texas history with a national audience. Thanks to support from The Eugene McDermott Foundation, The Texas Jewish Historical Society, the Corsicana Visitors Bureau, the Corsicana Preservation Foundation, and generous contributions from individuals around the world, we are making incredible progress toward our fundraising goal of $210,000 for this film.

But, we need your help to cross the finish line… Please help us reach our fundraising goal of $25,000 on North Texas Giving Day. Every dollar raised goes directly to the production of DUST: An Accidental Time Capsule and is tax deductible.

Thanks for your support of DUST and for your help preserving the beautiful stories behind these photographs. - Allison V. Smith, Henry Horenstein, and Michael Thomas (Full Frame Foundation) @allisonvsmith @michael_thomas_214 @henryhorenstein

North Texas Giving Day

When a local business in Corsicana, Texas was renovated in 2019, a treasure trove of thousands of unclaimed photographs from 1943 - 1968 was discovered. They reveal what author David Searcy describes as a “heartbreaking and beautiful” chronicle of post-war Texas.

We are using this years #NorthTexasGivingDay to help fund the production of the feature length documentary film, DUST: An Accidental Time Capsule, directed by Mark Birnbaum. Your support helps us interview families, track down the stories, and preserve this period in Texas History.

Help us reach our goal of $25,000 to complete filming and keep Texas history alive.

Click the link in our bio to give early or schedule your donation for September 17th!

Early Giving officially opens Thursday August 27th!
