One year ago, I was diagnosed with Crohns, and at the time, I couldn’t have imagined the journey ahead or how deeply it would change me. Looking back now, one word comes to my mind. Growth. This past year my life changed in every aspect that it could have. I asked God why he was allowing this. The endless doctors appointments, the ER visits, the surgeries, the never ending pain. The answer is simple. My life isn’t about me. It’s about Him. My faith deepened in ways I never expected. In my weakest moments, I felt Him the closest. I felt a pull to run to Him, not away. I began to trust Him in a way I never had before. My faith has become a source of courage, hope, and peace, guiding me through uncertainty. It taught me that even in the hardest seasons, God is still present, and growth is still possible. I began pushing my body even when it felt like it had nothing left to give. And through the process something shifted inside me. I discovered strength that I never knew I had. Ive learned to find the courage to keep showing up for myself, to keep moving forward and trying when it felt impossible, and how to believe in my resilience even when my body is literally attacking itself. I’m not the same person I was a year ago. I’m stronger, more grateful, and more aware of the blessings I once overlooked. I’ve also learned that you never know what someone is going through. You never truly know what someone is carrying beneath the surface. A person can be smiling, showing up, and doing everything they’re supposed to do, all while silently fighting battles. I believe in being a happy warrior. While I am still in the thick of this, with good and bad days, I will keep choosing to be a happy warrior. This past year was the toughest chapter of my life, but it was also the most transformative.Growth is learning to rise again and when you do, giving the glory the One that gave you the strength to do so. by @faceby_farrah
