When unions demand too much and the infrastructure is overpriced, and the politicians line their own pockets, while filming TV Crews feel entitled, it’s no wonder shows have left California.

Everyone had a hand in the destruction of Hollywood. From the greedy IATSE. Union’s all the way up to the state city, local politicians and regulatory governing bodies. They are all at fault for the losses of the jobs in California.

I can’t say as I don’t blame production, houses, and companies for leaving. California has become a business unfriendly environment. They deserve what they planted, which is a root of evil, greed, and arrogance. by @facesofmaskedidentity

When you do everything to destroy and industry, they decide to survive by leaving.

The Mayor, city council, Governor and state representatives did this to film and TV CREWS. by @facesofmaskedidentity

Helping out the community I live in part-time. This is an awesome food bank on Mondays at the Christian faith Campus.

#BigBear #FoodBank
I get to do community things, fun things that have nothing to do with the bullshit that I put up with from people in entertainment for 33 years.

Including the crap that happened with Shaun Smith, Paul Elliott, lying and cheating and deceiving the people who trust them to pay for service services rendered.

I’m grateful I get to leave the toxic, negative, viral backstabbing industry behind. Holding back for years. Finally, getting to tell people to fuck off and take their toxic energy elsewhere, is entirely satisfying.

it’s wonderful to be around every day people and serve people in need that show gratitude and grace. It truly was an inspirational day of giving. by @facesofmaskedidentity

#Emmy’s #Nominations

There are those times in your life that seems so important in the moment. I appreciate having the experience. But I realize how artificial and meaningless that moment is today. It’s just a distant memory.

#Numbers

2005 to 2010. Somewhere close to the beginning of that series I had the opportunity to do makeup on #ChristopherLloyd. He was so reserved. I enjoyed working with him. The rest of the cast was pretty much enjoyable too. They asked me to age him. I said isn’t he already older? Not only did. I age him further, but he had to look sickly. He was playing an old comic book author, who is being scammed by a younger man. I truly enjoyed meeting the man who brought so much laughter to my life as Doc Brown.

Star Trek VI #startrek
The undiscovered country.

It’s amazing how things get packed away and you forget the projects that you worked on and the people who got you there.

Richard Snell was a talented and amazing makeup and makeup effects artist. He was generous, specific, determined, yet kind. All those traits put together are rare in Hollywood. There are a lot of shitheads out there. And even in the past four years, I’ve had to put up with some of them. I’m grateful Richard was never one of those people.
Ron Pipes recommended me and I ended up working on my first Star Trek project. Albeit, It was in the Makeup effects studio, but I was still excited to have something to do with this film.

As a child, I watched that original series, with Captain Kirk and the crew. And my dream of working on Star Trek shows and movies did manifest. It happened because of people like Richard Snell and Ron Pipes.

I am grateful, even though I didn’t like everyone on the crew. Not all personalities blend well. I was in amazing company with some of the most talented affects people in Hollywood.
A career that would have never happened had I stayed in my tiny little space in Michigan.

There are times when just doing what you love is enough.

The surprise is that other people notice too. You can’t always be the one holding the trophy, but you can be the one recognized by your peers.

It’s rewarding to know that what you do, gets recognize by those who walk the same path, but sometimes different destinations.
