I started cutting hair in 2020 at 17 years old.

I had no idea it would completely change the direction of my life.

Before barbering, my first love was sneakers and fashion. I grew up watching YouTube and started reselling clothes in 8th grade to make money.

Eventually that interest in style led me to cutting hair.

Then COVID hit. I needed a haircut, so I cut my own hair.

I was my first client. 😂

Soon I was cutting friends anywhere I could — basements, houses, outside, and eventually college dorms.

My first 10 cuts were free. Then I started charging $10.

And I was terrible. 😂

I kept going.

At UConn, I studied finance while cutting on the side. Junior year, things started picking up and I was doing 15–20 cuts a week.

But I still thought I was going to work in corporate.

Since I was 16, I was constantly working 2–3 jobs while going to school. I even landed an interview with Goldman Sachs...

and missed it because I forgot to RSVP. 😂

Then I started a data analytics internship and realized pretty quickly that I couldn’t see myself doing that forever.

So I found a barbershop 40 minutes away and basically begged for an opportunity.

I worked my internship 6–3, then the shop 3–9.

Eventually I enrolled in barber school while still going to college, working, cutting, and making content.

My clientele grew, but it was inconsistent. I remember being fully booked one day and having ZERO clients the next.

I opened my own studio anyway.

That’s when social media changed everything.

People started finding my videos and driving from far away to sit in my chair.

I had my first fully booked week, then my first $10K month ended up being $14K.

Eventually, I graduated from college and barber school and went all in on myself.

My prices went:

FREE → $10 → $15 → $20 → $25 → $35 → $50 → $65 → $80

Today I’m 23, have my own studio, work with brands, and make a living doing something I genuinely love.

My boy josel was sick and tired of the combover look he’s been rocking for a while now. We did a thorough consultation to decide what works best for him for a wedding he is going to. We ended up on a Low taper with a textured fringe! What do you think??

Living the life I’ve always dreamed of by continuing to pour into my passion. Crazy how far these clippers and shears have taken me in such a short time. Still a lot more room to grow but reflection is the only way to continue moving forward🙏🏽
