The secret’s out. Please welcome Wayne Swart, the new drummer/family member of Fading Gray! 🤘

From the moment Wayne sat behind the kit for his audition and started smashing the skins, we knew we’d found the perfect fit.

The energy. The attitude. The musicianship. And, probably most importantly for this bunch, the personality.

It just clicked.

So, who the hell is Wayne?

Enter Wayne, Fading Gray’s larger-than-life new man behind the kit. No stranger to the South African music scene, with The Great Fernandos and After Robot among his previous bands, Wayne brings even more personality and an undeniable love of performing.

A people person through and through, he’s big on friendship, camaraderie and making some noise — whether he’s tearing it up barefoot behind the drums or shouting from the sidelines as a hockey coach, where the nickname El Presidente was born.

Musically, his heart sits somewhere between early hard rock and metal, with Black Sabbath, Metallica and Lamb of God firmly in the mix... and Limp Bizkit occupying the guilty pleasure corner.

Equal parts passion, humour and organised chaos, Wayne rarely does anything quietly.

Perfect Day:
Good people, loud music, no responsibilities and, ideally, no hangover.

The Fading Gray family just got a little bigger.

We’re incredibly happy to welcome beautiful little Arya, who made her arrival on 15 September 2026.

Huge love and congratulations to @lady.fae and her family on the arrival of their beautiful baby girl. We couldn’t be happier for you all and wish you a lifetime of love, happiness, beautiful memories… and eventually, some very loud music 🤘🏻

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗯𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀.

Today, with heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our brother, Nate, as he steps away from Fading Gray.

We've shared unforgettable highs and difficult lows, countless kilometres, endless rehearsals, and some of the biggest moments of our lives together. Nate has been far more than our drummer, he's been our brother.

While we're heartbroken to see him go, we completely respect his decision and know it comes from doing what's right for him and his family. There is no bitterness, only love, respect, gratitude, and memories we'll carry forever.

Nate wanted to leave you with these words:
