Thank you for turning our fairy fete into a beautiful evening celebrating the heritage that makes NYC, NYC.

We celebrated J’ouvert the Rhythm Radar way with fairies, Queers, and everyone across the diaspora coming together in celebration, movement, music, and a little bit of magic.

Fairy Dust & Bass swaps is about becoming.

We reject the idea that our magic, our softness, our strangeness, our joy exists to catalyze somebody else’s transformation.

We are not your muse.
We are not your character development.
We are not here to make your story more interesting.

We are becoming for ourselves.
And more than 140 of you came to celebrate that with us

Thank you to every fairy who pulled up, danced, sweated, flirted, served, supported, and helped make the night what it was.

This was our first chapter of the Fete
but baby, the fairies are just getting started ✧

Sometimes it’s attention.

✨ COMMUNITY CALLOUT ✨

We’re looking for collaborators to help bring the next Rhythm Radar visual campaign to life.
This shoot is a love letter to Black queer joy, fantasy, movement, and community. Think fairies shaking ass, chosen family, glitter, sweat, softness, freedom, and the magic of finding yourself on the dance floor.
We’re currently looking for photographers, videographers, makeup artists, hairstylists, models, and anyone excited to help build something beautiful with us.
If you’ve been wanting to create work that celebrates Black queer life with intention, care, and imagination we’d love to hear from you.
As always, this project centers Black queer people and is rooted in collaboration over clout. Whether you’re established or just starting out, if you believe in the vision and want to contribute your skills, there’s a place for you.
