Matt and his son Liam stuck this big boy sight fishing the marsh this last week. We also made a bunch of casts at stubborn Tripletail. The water is slowly looking better, and fishing should be getting hot. by @fairhope_fly_guy

@justinneedsasnack and I have been chatting vans and fishing for a couple of years now, and finally got a chance to fish together. Bite was tough most of the day, with redfish following, and then turning away, or not interested at all. It was frustrating, but, on the final drift, this monster slurped the Marsh Rover from @spacecoastflies / @communityflysupply on a @templeforkoutfitters Moment 7wt. It then dragged us to the beach where we had a crowd of spectators. Great way to end a day. by @fairhope_fly_guy

We represented our favorite fly fishing guide while on two separate guided trips in Arkansas today! Blake and Brody fly fished with captain Ben and caught some beautiful trout on the White River. Brooks and I fished with captain Jacob using spinning reels 😁 and caught over 20 fish between the two of us! I’m sitting here this morning, drinking my coffee, and reporting Tags that we stuck in fish for Dauphin Island Sea Lab. I’m also reflecting on the past few days of practice and fishing the @tripletailclassic. Last year we learned what not to do, but this year, @andyprince @cavinicus and I actually put the work in, to find fish the week before tournament day, and it paid off. We ran 3 different skiffs, in 100 different directions over the 3 days leading up to tournament day. We weren’t in the top 3, but from last year’s tie in last place, we were thrilled with 6th place out of 37 teams this year. We all learned a ton about these awesome fish, and I’m excited to fish it again next year. Thanks to all the sponsors, especially @communityflysupply for letting Andy, Cavin, and me represent the shop. by @fairhope_fly_guy

What a weekend. Had an absolute blast, camping with my mini-me, chasing him around the trail, but I found time to sneak away on a different trail, and find a few fish. Matt @risingriverguides once said in my boat “ my favorite fish to catch, is the one on the end of my line”. And that’s how this little getaway was, no giants, nothing prestigious, but time away, in an absolutely beautiful location. What a fun weekend, watching my boy race, and a nice change of scenery. by @fairhope_fly_guy

David married into a fly fishing family, and wanted some experience before heading on the family trip to Saskatchewan. He did great, and stuck this bad boy. by @fairhope_fly_guy

Steve Moulton @flywaterflies had his 4th trip with me. We started back in some tidal creeks, but only found a ladyfish, moved to a better location, and instantly found redfish, but they had a bad attitude. We talked about how the follows, the tough casts, poor conditions, etc. make eats soooo much more special. Well boy did it, after several followers turning back to the school, this guy finally ate. He ate right at the boat too, it was awesome, and instantly made the tough day worth it. Both sporting our @communityflysupply hats, and caught the fish on a @spacecoastflies marsh rover. Also, I’ve heard that the spot on a redfish tail was to decrease the predation on their vital organs, as the spot looks like its eye, this guy had some damage right on his spot. Super interesting. by @fairhope_fly_guy

Steve Moulton @flywaterflies is a Threepeat client. He’s learning the saltwater fly game and improving each time. Today started out tough, with a black drum coming unbuttoned, then getting snubbed by several redfish. We finally found this chunky bruiser that was hungry, just shy of 36” and a hair over 16lbs. by @fairhope_fly_guy

Wow, I love it when they just cooperate, and eat what we throw at em. Had a killer couple of hours with @lindseywalters. The fish that I caught were on the @spacecoastflies / @communityflysupply tungsten marsh rover, Lindsey’s came on the @torrentoutdoors_fishing Thresher swimbait. @jnelson1114 is that the biggest fish in the thresher? Or do we need to step our game up? by @fairhope_fly_guy
