This is our last weekend of the season open on the island! We're open 10-4 on Saturday and Sunday and then open for a half day on our last day, Monday the 12th. Then we are closing down to spend some quality time with our dog and other family members before starting our winter work.

Like always we will be open online during the winter at our own website and our Bookshop.org storefront. by @fairislebooks

We've got our shelves packed for fall! Island slowed down just enough for a hearty restock before everyone came back for Labor Day. Open today 10-4 like always, and open for special holiday hours on Monday from 10-1. by @fairislebooks

Heartbroken to hear about Wendell Berry's death. Meeting him at a conference and getting to tell him he was one of my favorite authors (and poets) was a real highlight of becoming a bookseller for me. He will be missed, but we can take comfort in the rich legacy he's left for us to read and re-read for years to come. by @fairislebooks
