An ode to Aang,

Paangus Beef was quite the kitty…

He helped me get through my undergrad, as he would sit with me through numerous assignments, papers, and even exams, giving me his moral support as well as his opinion on my stress levels when he would demand I take a break so I could hold him like a baby and give him sweet kisses.

He was my studio buddy, as I had many late nights and he was the only one who would pull those long hours with me as we shared my smithing chair rolling from my bench to my fire station.

My cuddle buddy on the warm and the cold nights, where he would crawl under my sheets to sleep and be spooned by me, until it got far too hot, at which he would do my favorite thing, crawl half way out of the sheets and share my pillow with me.

He was quite the special kitty, and though I have had kitties at my parents house and worked with so many different animals, I never had met one quite like Aangus. We created a bond that I was unaware was possible, his little meows that I learned all held different meanings, his different stank eyes that were his way of asking for pets or cuddles, or to be left the heck alone (and you better get which one he was asking for right). We grew to understand each other without the need of words, he was an extension of me and (I hope) vise verse. On the days that I was moving out he stayed glued to me, he knew I was leaving, and I decided words were necessary to explain that though I may be moving, we will always be together. We did not chose each other in this life time, but we were forced together, and for that I am eternally grateful to his momma bear @hopper_rachel , for she gave me a gift of a love deeper than one I had yet experienced. I am very happy I decided to use my words with him during those last few days together, to tell him my love for him and our connection that cannot be broken by any amount of distance, as I now hope, somehow, he remembered them in his last few days here on earth, or that he can feel them now as he has taken form in the final name I can give him for this lifetime, our Sweet Star Child…
