On Tuesday, April 21st, FaithActs for Education returned to the Connecticut State Capitol. Again.

Over a dozen visits. The same demand. One unified message: Governor Lamont, fund our schools equitably. Fully fund the ECS formula. Support the BET on Bridgeport district transformation. Pass tuition support for diverse aspiring educators. The budget is the choice — and we have been watching all session long.

Our faith leaders don’t just march. They ask the hard questions directly — the ones too many are afraid to voice. And they keep coming back until they get answers.

We will not back down. We will not settle. Governor Lamont and the Connecticut legislature must make a choice:

FIND THE FUNDS OR FORFEIT THE FUTURE.

The children of this state are watching. And so are we.

On March 4th, FaithActs leaders and clergy stood alongside community members to send a clear message to Connecticut legislators: “FIND THE FUNDS OR FORFEIT THE FUTURE!”

Our CEO, Jamilah Prince-Stewart, delivered a powerful call to action before a room filled with students, community leaders, legislators, and advocates committed to change.

Every child in this state deserves a full investment in their education and their future. Drop a ✊🏾 if you stand with us.

“The election is just the beginning. It is not nearly an end.”

Hundreds of Bridgeport residents showed up at Cathedral of Faith Tuesday night to hold Connecticut’s gubernatorial candidates accountable on education, housing, affordability, and the economic realities facing Black women. No prepared speeches. Just real questions from real people.

That’s the work.

“Elections are a responsibility not only of us, but of the elected officials that we pay for through our tax dollars. Taking part in that process is not just a civic responsibility. It’s how you ensure that you’re getting your taxes worth.”

— Duanecia Evans Clark, Chief Strategy & Communications Officer, FaithActs for Education

History was made last night! Thank you, Bridgeport, and thank you to our FaithActs family. You showed up in record numbers.

The FaithActs Gubernatorial Candidate Forum brought our community face-to-face with the people who want to lead Connecticut. That conversation does not end here; we’re carrying it all the way to the polls. 🗳️

Last night, we brought the Power To: The People of Connecticut. We heard from all three Gubernatorial Candidates: Governor Ned Lamont, Senator Ryan Fazio, and Representative Josh Elliott. The room was filled with constituents eager to hear their stance on issues that matter most to families, children, and neighbors. We asked the hard questions and listened closely as each candidate shared their responses.

We’re watching to see what happens next and equipping our family with knowledge. Our official 2026 FaithActs Voter Guide launches August 1st to prepare you for the primary on August 11th and Election Day on November 3rd.

The deadline to register to vote is August 4th. Don’t wait. Get registered. Commit to vote. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors with you to the polls. See you at the polls!

This weekend, FaithActs joined #100GirlsLeading in Bridgeport, CT to empower girls ages 9 to 18 to make their voices heard. 💕

#100GirlsLeading, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Bridgeport that provides access to mentoring programs for underserved girls ages 9 to 18, empowering them to lead locally and globally. We were honored to stand alongside them.

Together with fellow community partners and mentors, we talked with the girls directly about why voting matters and how to be heard at any age. Girls and their parents stopped by our FaithActs table to share what they want their next Governor to do, what they hope candidates will care about, and even the questions they’d ask those running for office. 🗳️

We left just as inspired as they did, having spent the day watching them simply be girls. These young ladies are poised, ready, and the next generation of leaders, and we’ll be supporting them every step of the way.

You were never meant to pray alone, and neither were your children.

Summer is at the door. As the school year ends, let’s come together and cover our children in prayer — and lift our voices against every force working to silence them at the ballot box. Join us for our monthly Prayer Call with Bishop John Diamond, Pastor Gabrielle Beam, and Pastor William McCullough.

This is a moment to declare protection, peace, and purpose over every child as they step into a new season — and to stand in faith against the attacks on our voting rights that threaten the future we’re building for them. Come expectant, come believing, and come ready to pray.

This honor belongs to all of us.

Last night, FaithActs received the NAACP Social Impact Award, and our own Bishop Danny Bland was named the 2026 NAACP Religious Leader. Every prayer, every late night, every act of organizing carried us here.

We’re pausing to celebrate. Then we’re getting right back to work.

Today, we launch POWER: To the People, our 2026 FaithVotes campaign. Because real social impact isn’t an award. It’s organized, informed, mobilized people showing up.

POWER is ours. It always has been. Now we use it.

Join us the movement. Commit to vote today at faithacts.org/vote. We need you with us as we head to the polls.
