First range session with the winter nights coming in. Rediscovered the mini driver, put a Tensei White 1K 75X driver shaft into my old Callaway Bertha Mini 1.5 set at 11°D and it's an absolute beast. Low long bullets with accuracy! Long may it continue! Needed a new headcover and had to get the best OE release of recent times, the Taylormade mini BRNR, pretty pleased with my current headcover setup!

After a fantastic four day golf trip I managed to get my best drive on the very last hole of the tour at Cleeve Hill! Awesome that it got captured on film and some pictures courtesy of @timhutchful and @stu.hollis
Always a pleasure to play at Cleeve, I just wish the rest of it had been as good as this! Will certainly be back.

A real walk down memory lane playing my old school 9 hole course on the weekend. The course was very much in Summer holiday mode but memories came flooding back.
There are quite a few changes;
Hole 1 now tees off from a little further back than the original ladies tee. I played it well with a 2 iron, a short pitch to the green and a lucky holed putt for birdie.
There is a fantastic new par 3 second hole, I'm not sure whether an architect was consulted but it has a lovely shape with well positioned bunkers, fairly long as I didn't reach into the wind with my 7 iron. Sadly I bogeyed.
The third is consequently longer than back in the old days, I hit a fantastic second shot as shown in the pic to 6-8 feet and sadly missed my birdie putt.
The fourth is just as I remember it, one of my favourite holes with so many memories of trying to drive the green. I hit a well struck draw with the 2 iron onto the slope leading to the green, bumped a chip to the pin and holed my birdie putt. If only I'd tried to play it as easily as this back in the day! Haha
From here I parred all the remaining holes, the fifth was my other favourite hole. As kids we used to spend ages in the quarry hitting lobs out onto the two greens or actually just smashing shots into the rock face! The quarry rocks are now completely hidden behind some shrubs/bushes.
The 6th is exactly the same, was an easy driver pitch par.
The trees on the left of the 7th have grown to close off the straight smash onto the fairway. With the wind behind I tried for a monster smash fade and put it luckily onto the tee box of the 6th! A short lob and 2 putts for a par.
The 8th is almost the same but sadly the 'Eddy J' bunker on the left of the green is gone! Ed holed his second into the foot of the pin when we put it into the bunker as the preceding group!
The 9th is exactly the same, with the wind behind I hit a big one down the middle and pitched on and finished with a par.
A respectable -1 round, was incredible to be back there after 21 years. Felt very blessed to have been able to go out barefoot as kids and just run round with a 7 iron before dark.

Miraculously found my club's in the boot on a family trip to Devon and made good use of them by going to play East Devon GC, my 27th English Top 100. Strangely hard to find any photos online despite some of the best views available. The course is a true bombers paradise, the wind was favourable and I drove 3 greens, coming close on 3 others. Of course some holes were into the wind and the difference between into and with the wind was almost 180 yards with my 3 wood! Shots like this keep you coming back! Nearly holed it with a sweet 9 iron down the hill on my nemesis hole, holed out for the birdie. Was blessed to attend the beautiful wedding of @lalaboudacosta and @karmaliash , saw so many friends that I haven't seen in years. Probably the most beautiful and brutal course I've ever played. 26th on my English Top 100 journey and one that I've looked forward to playing for a long time. Right on the north western border, Scotland is clearly visible on the other side of the Solway. Quite a trek to get up here but you are rewarded with a truly magnificent experience, the golf is very difficult but it is just so stunning that you can happily lose balls and laugh about it. Now that I know the course layout I would love to come back and have another go.

Fantastic round at Seascale GC, better round than last year but still a few wobblies into the wind! Real value for money on a top 100 course, always a pleasure coming back here and look forward to coming again!

Fantastic day up at Cleeve Hill GC, hill top golf is such a unique experience and the course was stunning at the height of summer. So many holes with big elevation changes making for some pretty dramatic views. Course was really baked out playing like a Links. The par 3 16th, first pic, is one of the most beautiful holes I've ever played. Pin can be seen on the top of the hill. 25th course of my English Top 100 journey.
