Hi Bookfam! Happy New Year! I honestly cannot believe it’s already 2026, and I have been off bookstagram for almost a year.
This year, I’m not setting any reading goals or any expectations. I’ll try to create a routine, get in the habit of reading and just enjoy it. Same with my bookstagram journey. I’ll stop chasing perfection and simply share my daily life.

There’s something magical about cafés that come with shelves full of stories. Cafes with books are superior and I love discovering them. @bistro_e is one of my favourites: the decor, aesthetics, food, vibes - wonderful all around.

Download ![#Qotd: What makes a book popular in your opinion?
Hi Bookfam! It’s been a while since I’ve posted, more than a month in fact. Instagram was being annoying and glitchy, and then life happened, and amidst spending time with family, I ended up taking a mini break without meaning to.
I do have Bunch of ARCs and Book Tours to talk about, and I sincerely apologise for not being able to post on time 🥺 Slowly, but surely, I’ll make it up.
If I’m being honest, writing reviews started feeling like a chore. Do people even read them anymore? Having read quite a few similar fantasies which all blended together or were disappointing, I fell into a slump and started questioning whether it was me that was the problem?
Anyways, for me, bookstagram will always be where I go for book recs and read reviews, and that’s what I’ll continue to do. I didn’t finish a single book in Feb, and that’s okay. We all have our off times. I’m currently reading Every Time I Go On Vacation, Someone Dies. What about you?

Book Review # 2 | Annie Bot by Sierra Greer
This book was WILD. What an unexpectedly thought-provoking read! When I heard @readwithcindy talk about, I immediately placed a reservation in the library! I was hooked from the first chapter, and could not put it down! Sierra Greer (@sierra_greer_writer) blends humour, heart, social commentary, and honestly real-life horror (XD) into a sci-fi narrative that will stay with you long after you’ve finished the book.
The story follows Annie, a state-of-the-art robot created to be the “perfect partner” (read sex robot) for Doug, her mediocre and emotionally detached owner, or maybe he is too emotionally attached 🤷🏽♀️ As their life progresses, Annie with her curiosity feels contradicted with her mind, body, and her purpose in this world. She takes a leap into the unknown and begins a journey of self-discovery, which is just addictive and slightly uncomfortable to read about. As she navigates the complexities of human relationships and explores her autonomy, Annie realizes there is more to life than pleasing others.
I love how this book doesn’t scream women empowerment to the readers. It even portrays Doug as being a great owner, with the robot techs continuously telling Annie how lucky she is. The scary reality is how often women actually feel that way, feel that maybe they have it good. That maybe they are not satisfactory enough and they can do better… and that really hits home. The way gender dynamics are discussed is extremely clever, and it definitely makes you reflect on the subtle ways misogyny and societal expectations influence our lives. Overall, I loved this book and will definitely be on the lookout for more books by this author!

Book Review # 1 | A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole
After putting it off for the longest time, I finally picked up A Thousand Boy Kisses by @authortilliecole. This was my first read of the year, and I’m so glad that it was! This is a deeply emotional story that leaves a lasting impression 💕
The story follows childhood sweethearts Poppy and Rune, whose love is tested by distance and tragedy. We read about how they meet, become the best of friends, and go on to become childhood sweethearts. Years after being separated and being out of touch, they reunite only to face the heartbreaking reality of Poppy’s terminal illness. It’s a tale of love, loss, and living fully in the moments that matter.
The emotional intensity of this book is undeniable. Poppy’s joy for life and Rune’s fierce devotion are beautifully written, and their relationship is the heart of the story. Tillie Cole explores themes of love, loss, and the importance of living fully, and there were definitely moments that brought tears to my eyes.
That said, I believe I would have enjoyed this book a lot more had I read it when I was younger. In my opinion, Rune and Poppy are just too young, but I understand how their love felt earth shattering to them. It’s still a beautiful story that a lot of people will enjoy!
