Happy Birthday to this Chatty Kathy who never stops talking and who also exhibits the facial emotional range of a Shakespearan Actor.......pffff just kidding. I've been friends with Chuckles for over 30 years and I don't think he's ever said a complete sentence to me🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ . I had the pleasure of getting to know Tristan Smith and Vic Hernandez through all the extraordinary work they've been doing with the Long Island Football History and Long Island Basketball History pages. The only thing that separates us is age, wisdom, and beauty (all me) pffff. With that being said, I already know, I'd follow them through Hell with a gasoline backpack on. No questions asked. They create and inspire. They (We) wanna see folk 'thriving' not 'striving.' They lift everyone up. Motivate, encourage, listen, never judge or pound their chests. Tristan's accolades and accomplishments as a student athlete are astounding. Rarified air that only a select few could ever comprehend. I never knew he was a Basketball state champion and player of the Year with a full scholarship to St John's until a couple of months into our ball busting.

The sites are basically a therapeutic milieu for us crazy SOBs. Those pages are were we can get together with muppets of all walks of life because of our shared experiences in sports, decompress, listen and regale each other with our tales of yesteryear when we didn't tear an ACL mowing the lawn and kissed a cheerleader behind the bleachers 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Perhaps some embellished or even borderline fiction. Regardless for all the good they've given us, go check out Tristan's book on Amazon "The Weight of Meaning." Salutations, folks! We're back, Saturday August 22nd at the patriotic community venue that is the VFW. Doors open at 630pm so start saving those 20 shekels now! My God look at these headshots! I haven't seen head shots this good since the Texas School Book Depository or the guy sitting in front of Paul (Pee-Wee) Reubens at that movie theater in Florida! Back and to the left!!! Being a father is the best job I've ever had. But it also makes you realize how much a simple snapshot matters. Attached is a photo of my children. My motivation: my daughter, Olivia, who asks everyday "What about OliviaCare?" and son, LIAM. I always reply, "LIAM gets the name, you get the money." 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Bridging generations is a mission that hits close to home.

Folks if you wanna know why we're raising a generation of children softer than baby shit and puree food, allow me to explain my theory.

The first two pictures are of my children from Liam's Holy Communion on Saturday. The last one is me circa 1983? But in similar chronological age as Olivia. I maybe owned one suit up until age 20. It was an 'Off the Rack' mismatched combo from Sears that we got with a coupon when my parents bought a vacuum cleaner. Some Buster Brown loafers would complete the look for any milestone or celebration during my school-aged years. Often accompanied by a meal at such fine establishments as McDonald's or Pizza Hut. On extraordinary occasions i.e. Marriage, Death, etc we would step up our game and ball out at Friendlys. My Mother gave me haircuts in the kitchen with a bowl or spaghetti colander placed atop my head for guidance and style. She said I looked 'So handsome and all the girls will love it' (THAT WAS A FUCKING LIE MOM!!!! PFFFF) Needless to say I was battle tested by age 7. I would quarrel with classmates and get into at least one donnybrook a month because someone called me a 'moppy haired-pumpkin headed freak.'

But these kids nowadays are wearing Bespoke suits from Savile Row accentuated with the finest flair from the local haberdashery. Their hairstyles are Vidal Sasoon ready and meals are only at a One Star Michelin rated or higher restaurant. A simple celebration such as a Communion makes 'My Super Sweet 16' look like snack time at the Roach Coach. At our last restaurant Liam had the Waygu steak tid-bits, while Olivia ordered the Chicken Fingers with White Truffles. For drinks, they asked what was in the Chef's Private Stock/Cellar off the menu. Then proceeded to wash it all down with an extremely rare 1950 Chateau de Chocolate Milk. These kids don't know how fucking easy they got it! And how cool I am as well, I suppose?

During inclement weather like today or perhaps one of the worst blizzards in recent history? 🤔🤔🤔 LIAM CARE will allow family members to remain connected with loved ones in Senior Living Facilities. We'll save you an in-person visit or trip this time.

We can't help you though with the endless guilt trip from Nana if you don't use LIAM CARE. A simple Greeting Card or Picture of the grandkids frolicking in today's snow sent and delivered immediately in real-time to her facility would mean the world to her. And you'll be forgiven for not visiting as much lately.....for now! Call, text or email me for more info!!
