🅿️ 𝐒𝐄𝐔𝐌: 𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝.

Last time we checked in with Montréal’s doom'n'roll x guitar-free sludge trio, Conjuring was causing trouble and “Sad Labbath” hinted at something new.

Now ‘Parking Life’ - released on LP, tape & Digital through Black Throne Productions & Falling Apart Records - is here: bass, drums, vocals — and a guitar position that remains suspiciously unfilled. One fewer person to organise rehearsals around, though. These people understand adulthood.

Sludge weight, punk impatience and grooves with a disconcerting amount of swing: Seum turn grown-up frustration into something you can actually move to. “Employee of the Month” makes a strong case for workplace misconduct; “666 Problems” brings Dopethrone’s Vincent Houde into the mess.

Clean vocals creep into “Right Swipe Blues” and “Sad Labbath”, opening up the sound without scrubbing off the grime. There’s more emotional room here — and plenty of dirt on the carpet.

Doom’n’roll asks an important question: if everything feels heavy, can it at least groove?

@seumtheband make a convincing case.
