Psyched and honored to now be an athlete for @tenayaclimbing 🥳🤠

Been really loving their shoes so far! Pictured here wearing the Masai out at Sunset Alley. 🧗Thanks for the photos Mara @maras.moodboard! 😍

@libmtn is now the US distributor for Tenaya, and they’re available now at @thedesertrat_sg too! Awesome to see multiple brands that I work with coming together like this. 🤩

I’ve now been with @cypherclimbing/@libmtn for over 8 years! 😱 And stoked to be adding @tenayaclimbing to the lineup. 🙏

My memoir ‘Pay No Mind’ is available for pre-order! Link in my bio to pre-order from @diangelopublications 🥳Swipe for the description ➡️

Pre-orders are one of the best ways to support authors. Since this is my first book, it’s especially important! I appreciate all of you for pre-ordering and sharing. It means the world to me.
📚
It started as a journal in 2017 when the gaslighting was so intense that I lost touch with reality, and I needed a definitive log of events to track the truth. After I escaped, I didn’t know what to say when people asked me what had happened—in Patagonia and the relationship. I joked that it would take an entire book to explain. Now, that book will be released at the end of the year.

Sharing this story is the most vulnerable thing I’ve ever done. I was 19: naive, stubborn, impulsive, and selfish. It was tempting to project the wisdom and maturity gained in the last decade onto the younger version of myself, but that wouldn’t do it justice. In my writing, I was intentional to tell it as it was, no matter how embarrassing, terrifying, or shameful.

I’m grateful to @johnloellong for his guidance and encouragement during the revision process, and for writing a powerful foreword for the book. He’s been one of my heroes since I was a little kid, and now I’m proud I can call him a friend.

Thanks @ez.bookdesign for creating such an amazing cover!

The book covers just 7 months of my life—a short period that fundamentally changed me. Thankfully, I’ve healed in countless ways since then, and I’m ready to share my story. As writers, when we release our work into the world, it is no longer ours. It belongs to readers.

‘Pay No Mind’ is about obsession, climbing, addiction, love, abuse, and illness.

I hope my story increases your capacity for compassion. It’ll be emotional to read. You’re probably going to feel frustrated. That’s the whole point when it comes to the maddening cycle of abuse. But I hope reading it helps you learn something about yourself, about control and power, about how our society views mental illness, and the places we go within ourselves when we endure situations that feel impossible. There is always a way out. by @fallonclimbs

After a years-long attrition due to dementia, my wonderful Grandma Sue passed away. This is the first time I’ve grieved someone. Some may say that’s a privilege, but it’s simply random chance. My grief began years ago when she could no longer recognize me, & it surged each time she lost more function & independence. The helpless feeling of loss caused by watching her slowly fade away led to detachment & cynicism. The cruelty of biology. I’m relieved her suffering is over so she can be at peace.

I’ll remember her not as she was these past few years, but as she was before: vibrant, curious, spunky, generous, caring, & endlessly loving. In a childhood where I often felt like an afterthought or annoyance, Gma was the only adult I could fully confide in, who made me feel truly seen, who really listened & wanted to take action about my health or other problems. She had the exceptional ability of making you feel like the most important person in the world with her undivided attention, eye contact, gentle touch, & genuine concern.

Her visits to us in Idaho were always a highlight—a rare opportunity to be spoiled with activities, candy, & other luxuries my sisters & I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to access. I have many fond memories visiting her in Reno/Tahoe as well. Her gifts were thoughtful, & she used every holiday as an excuse to send a card.

She attended some of my youth climbing comps, giving me sage advice to visualize myself getting to the top before every route (a suggestion I better appreciate now). Encouragement flowed out of her with every exhalation; her aura of positivity was unmatched.

She was well-traveled, and I regret not asking her for more stories of her adventures before she lost the ability to tell them. Her love for astrology, numerology, feng shui, & spirituality was foreign to me, but the way it manifested in the extraordinary quality of her energy was undeniable.

To be on the receiving end of her love was to feel abundant support & an absolute conviction that you mattered. I’ll strive to honor her spirit by spreading her classic “love & light” into the world whenever possible. Thank you for everything, Gma. I love you. 🩵🐘🌞 by @fallonclimbs

‘Blackened’ onsight 🧗 Was stoked on this one! Really unique route, definitely a bit different than the vert-pebbles style at other crags. It was cool to try to learn all the different styles at Smith! The rock variety surprised me.

Thank you @denisebftw for the first pic, @robbusack for the second pic, and @jessicadianadyer for the belay/hype! Great crew! 🤠

Already can’t wait to go back 🤩 I didn’t get to try any projects this trip, so definitely excited to hop on harder stuff next time.

The end of my Smith trip 🤩 Onsighting the classic ‘Moondance’ in extreme heat was memorable. Glad I could pull it off! Felt like I was falling up the entire time as the rock radiated heat and I had basically zero friction, haha. What an amazing route. 🧗

Really good times with friends!! Thank you @jessicadianadyer @denisebftw @robbusack and @hasting.dan for making the second half of my time in Smith such a blast. 🙌🤠 Great to spend time climbing with yall. Awesome to see everyone push themselves.

Seeing over a dozen river otters was also magical!!! 🦦😍

✅ Power Tools 5.12c. My new hardest route I’ve done in City of Rocks. 🥺

This climb means a lot to me. I used to look at this and think it looked impossibly difficult and too runout. But over the years, I’ve grown a lot as a climber, in physical strength, mental control, and technical ability. And this year it finally didn’t seem so intimidating.

5 sessions on the climb to get the send! Tried it a couple times in June and July, trained the rest of the summer, and finally got it done yesterday despite only getting 4 hours of sleep and feeling like my joints were falling apart (thank u Tylenol for saving me). As often happens on projects, on the send go the climbing felt really dialed and reasonable! I use pretty unique beta apparently on the opening V6 boulder. Curious if anyone else has done it this way.

So immensely grateful for this amazing place that gives me opportunities to keep pushing myself on such beautiful climbs. And for the ability to try hard even when my body struggles sometimes. I love climbing 🖤🤠

Life lately 🖤 I trained hard in the gym all summer with climbing and lifting - feeling strong and ready for fall season. Just finished my second term of grad school. Having my most successful season ever for my coaching business @sage.sending. Got to do a local author/book event. 📚 Loving life with @christian__andrus in our little townhouse. 🥰

This is the most settled and happy I’ve ever felt. Everything in my life feels aligned for the first time and I’m very grateful! 🙌🥳🖤

First two pics - #bouldering last week and it was still too hot outside (in the 90s by sunrise). Thankfully the @stio Lucent tank and Bounder shorts are as lightweight as it gets! Love both of these pieces.😍 Use my code FALLONCLIMBS for a discount on @stio 🤠#stioaffiliate #lettheoutsidein

I’m leaving the desert for a little bit to go #climbing in places with better temps, but I’ll be back for the amazing October climbing here! Lots of projects I’m psyched on🤘 by @fallonclimbs

$It’s been a wild ride. It was hard to decide what to include. This is only a fraction of what I wanted to share! The limitations of a short video… But I hope it helps people understand some of my story. Grateful for those of you who have supported me through the many ups and downs. 🙏 I’m immensely grateful to be where I am now.
