✅ Power Tools 5.12c. My new hardest route I’ve done in City of Rocks. 🥺

This climb means a lot to me. I used to look at this and think it looked impossibly difficult and too runout. But over the years, I’ve grown a lot as a climber, in physical strength, mental control, and technical ability. And this year it finally didn’t seem so intimidating.

5 sessions on the climb to get the send! Tried it a couple times in June and July, trained the rest of the summer, and finally got it done yesterday despite only getting 4 hours of sleep and feeling like my joints were falling apart (thank u Tylenol for saving me). As often happens on projects, on the send go the climbing felt really dialed and reasonable! I use pretty unique beta apparently on the opening V6 boulder. Curious if anyone else has done it this way.

So immensely grateful for this amazing place that gives me opportunities to keep pushing myself on such beautiful climbs. And for the ability to try hard even when my body struggles sometimes. I love climbing 🖤🤠

Sick send. I heard 3/4ths of it and witnessed the last small crux from 5 feet over. Pardon my leg video bombing in the corner 😂

That final sequence on Power Tools looks desperate from below — committing to the 5.12c finish with all that blue sky behind is a bold frame. City of Rocks granite at its best.

An inspiring classic! First time I did the technical left beta because the holds felt better, then came back & did the powerful direct arete. Both about 12c 💪

Creative! I recall “Idaho power” was a top rope that stayed in the crack and didn’t join Power Tools. Congrats!
