Can’t even tell you how devoted she is. She puts every bit of her passion, heart, and love for her craft into everything she creates.

SUPERIOR. Superior is the highest rating awarded in theatre adjudication. A recognition of outstanding creativity, skill, and dedication.

So proud of Addisyn for earning this honor for her scenic design of Anything Goes! 🎭 by @fancy_n_fierce

HELP PLEASE! Addisyn is busy creating a scale model of a set design. She needs to provide a person for her model around 6”. Does anyone have a 3D printer that could make this for her? She would like to base it on a character from the musical. by @fancy_n_fierce

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I have spent way too much of my time digging deeply into the issue not to share my thoughts.

I am a homeowner, I pay property taxes, and yes, I want property-tax relief. I am also a small business owner who will benefit from those relocating to Florida wishing to take advantage of reduce property taxes in the long run. I will be voting NO on Florida’s proposed property-tax amendment.

This proposal could reduce county property-tax revenue statewide by about $5 billion annually by its second year. In Charlotte County alone, the estimated reduction is approximately $77 million (25%) In Sarasota County, that estimate is around $89 million (17%). Notice the disparity based on the values / and overall economic disparity between these counties.

Maybe there is enough waste to absorb that. If so, show us where. Let’s look at our current budget to see where we can cut a quarter of the Charlotte County budget.

What gets cut? How do we continue funding roads, fire and EMS, law enforcement, hurricane preparedness, HURRICANE RECOVERY (no not all expenses are paid at the federal or state level and those that are are often reimbursements that come later) and other essential services? If nothing gets cut, where does the replacement money come from?

But my biggest concern is something I don’t think we’re talking about enough:

🛑🛑THIS ISN’T SIMPLY A TAX LAW. WE ARE CHANGING THE FLORIDA CONSTITUTION.🛑🛑

If the Legislature passes a bad tax law, it can change it. If we discover unintended consequences after putting this into the Constitution, fixing it is far more difficult. It could require another constitutional amendment, another statewide vote and another 60% approval by Florida voters.

I support property-tax relief. I support cutting government waste.

But our Constitution should not be the place where we experiment with tax policy and figure out the consequences afterward.

Before we make a change this difficult to undo, show us the plan.

Lower my taxes — but tell me what the $77 million cut means for Charlotte County first. by @fancy_n_fierce
