My Dish Crab Croissant 🥐🦀

Ingredients:
- Crab meat (1 can)
- Garlic
- Shallots
- Parsley or cilantro
- Pepper
- Old Bay seasoning
- Lemon
- Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- Sharp cheddar cheese
- Cream cheese (2 cans)
- Croissants
- Butter
- Butter brush
- Mixing bowl

Instructions:
Sauté garlic and shallots until fragrant, then add crab meat. Season with Old Bay, pepper, and lemon. Mix in cream cheese until smooth, then add shredded cheeses and herbs.

Fill croissants with the mixture, brush with garlic butter, and bake until golden and melty. by @fancylit_

Nostalgia on a plate 🤍✨
Growing up Latina, chicken cutlet with rice and beans was THAT meal every time @alwayssexy made it. Crispy, comforting, filling, and made with love every single time. So I recreated that same flavor… but oven-baked 👏🏽

Crispy, golden, crunchy, and it literally tastes fried without frying anything 😭🔥 Plus you can use it for sandwiches, wraps, tacos, rice bowls, meal prep, literally EVERYTHING.

INGREDIENTS:
• Chicken breast tenders OR ground turkey
• Sazón
• Adobo
• Oregano
• Blended garlic paste (garlic + vinegar)
• Breadcrumbs (seasoned or panko)
• Cornstarch or flour
• Eggs (for egg wash)
• Neutral oil or avocado oil
• Parchment paper or cling wrap

Optional: Add your homemade sofrito/sazón blend with peppers, onions, and garlic for extra flavor 🤌🏽

HOW TO MAKE IT:

Blend or grind your chicken if it’s not already ground.
Mix together your seasonings and season the chicken well.
Lay parchment paper or cling wrap on a flat pan and dust lightly with cornstarch or flour.
Spread the chicken mixture flat like one giant cutlet.
Coat both sides lightly with cornstarch, then egg wash, then breadcrumbs.
Oil both sides well for that crispy finish.
Flip carefully and repeat the same steps on the other side.
Bake at 325°F for about 15–25 minutes, then broil for 5 minutes until golden and crispy.

Serve with yellow rice, beans, make sandwiches, freeze for meal prep… trust me 😭 by @fancylit_

Greek dining in the Bronx 🇬🇷✨

Ilios Taverna is such a beautiful space! I started with complimentary warm pita + tzatziki, while my friend had the pork skewers with pita and fries. I went with the shrimp, served with white rice and a white wine lemon sauce. 🍤

Overall, I was looking for a little more flavor, but maybe I just need to go back and explore more of the menu. 👀

🍗 Jamaica Fried Chicken, a.k.a. JFC 🇯🇲

Fresh, flavorful, crispy, and not overly salty… JFC really did that! ✨

It’s nice having a chicken spot right here in the Bronx that feels like ours. Good food, familiar flavors, and a spot I know I can come back to whenever I’m craving some good fried chicken. 🔥

GREEN FIG JAM 🍯💚

You don’t have to eat fruit like a fruit. You can turn it into something. ✨

What I used:
• Green figs
• 2 tbsp honey
• 1 tbsp water
• Juice of ½ lemon
• Zest of ½ lemon
• Pinch of salt

How I made it:
Chop the figs and add everything to a saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring and gently mashing the figs as they soften. Let it simmer until it thickens into a jammy consistency.

Let it cool, then transfer to a clean jar. 🫙

I’m serving mine with garlic & herb goat cheese and toast… because why not? 😋 by @fancylit_
