It was a very sad day yesterday, as we said goodbye to our faithful companion, Bow. He was extremely gentle, loving and ever present by our side. He will be sorely missed. His love of water will not be forgotten; there are many tales of his bid for freedom amongst the waves. I'm pretty sure that in his new life, he's come back as a seal. So if you're ever walking the Pembrokeshire Coastal path and you see one of those familiar faces pop up, it could well be him!

Farewell to our precious boy, we shall return you to the sea over the summer.

6th July 2009 - 2nd May 2024

Thank you to @daily_life_at_housty for setting us up on what was a wonderful and loving journey.

Went on a family day trip to St Fagans National Museum of History today. We enjoyed all the expected reconstructed buildings, museum and grounds, but I was surprised to come across the beautiful Castle Gardens. In particular, this mesmerising prairie style garden, with the most awesome grasses and late flowering perennials. Can't find an Instagram account to tag, in order to offer my praise. So I will just put it out there - Stunning and well done 👏 🤩 taken in St Fagans National Museum of History by @fanfarlo

What a plant, toad lily (Tricyrtis formosana). Is there anything as interesting in its flowering complexity? Maybe Passiflora? Would be interested in anyone's suggestions. by @fanfarlo

I realise that I haven't posted any pictures of my own garden since the end of July. The reason being, (as for many, I'm sure) that most of the summer has been spent with either a hosepipe or watering can in hand, keeping struggling plants alive. With the return of cooler weather and some moisture in the air, it feels like the garden is returning with a sigh of relief! Here's a few snaps of some favourite flowers from my morning wander around the garden. by @fanfarlo
