In this sit-down interview, visual artist Jenny Fine shares how her grandmother has shaped her artwork, transforming grief and memory into evocative, handmade worlds. Through photography, sculpture, and performance, she explores family history, care, identity and the South. #alabamapublictelevision #monograph #JennyFine #photography #southernartist by @fannieamericus

#uncsa #dancers embodying the oyster costumes I made for #synchronizedswimmers

Three unique soundtracks build and overlap within this three-roomed exhibition, reversing the camera’s crop by adding sound and animation to the stillness of photography. Sound composed by @thegreatbookofjohn
Listen for the creaking of the oyster costume adding a live layer of sound that I can’t get over!

Granny has been asking for a while, “why don’t you sell my art?” And today I thought, why not! So here’s a small drop of prints for sale on my website by my grandmother and housemate, Elizabeth Caldwell, aka Granny, who will turn 95 in September.

Love the community that supports my practice. Forever grateful! There is so much footage in my archive that hasn’t yet seen the light of day. Here @jpurvis is lending his expert direction to In Unison, 2018.
