Representation truly matters. I've always identified with several disney characters, the perfect child for my parents, Islabela from @encantomovie , from the hard worker who wore a multitude of hats like #princesstiana from #princessandthefrog. This weekend, I found a princess that truly embodies me a child who wanted just to find herself and be free... and now she is me, I can see her as me, I am accepted and seen. #Ariel is now full #representation!

July is Disability Pride Month, and I've been thinking a lot about what that means for me.

For a long time, I've shared my love of Disney fashion, travel, and creativity here. What I haven't shared as much is that I experience all of those things as someone with a disability.

The truth is... I'm still learning how to be disabled.

Not because my disability is new. My body and I have been through more than I often share here. But accepting disability as part of who I am (and allowing myself to say that out loud) is something I'm still learning.

It wasn't necessarily that I was hiding it. I just didn't know how to talk about it. For a long time, I kept this part of me just outside of the frame. I shared the outfits, the Disney days, the smiles, and the magic... but not always the walker. Not always the pain. Not always the reality of what it sometimes takes for me to show up in those moments.

But this is part of my story.

And I'm learning that I don't have to choose between being a Disney creator and being a disabled creator. I don't have to hide one part of myself to celebrate another.
I'm still Tashy. Still whimsical. Still glam. Still creating. Still finding magic wherever I can.

I'm also disabled.

And during Disability Pride Month, I'm learning that maybe I don't have to have all the right words yet.

Maybe I can simply say: this is me 💖 by @fantasmicallyfunsized

For our day at Lookout Cay, I wanted to channel the colorful tropical energy of Minnie Mouse herself! This look was inspired by Tropical Minnie and all the vibrant island vibes she brings to Lookout Cay 💚🌺

One of my favorite things about Disneybounding is finding ways to turn character inspiration into wearable fashion while still making it feel true to my personal style. And getting to meet Tropical Minnie in this look made the moment feel even more magical!

Our very first Dapper Day together at Animal Kingdom 🤎🖤

Dapper Day has always been one of my favorite Disney traditions because it gives people the chance to celebrate creativity, style, and storytelling through fashion. Getting to finally experience it alongside my husband made this one feel extra special!

We decided to bring a little Afrocentric inspiration into our looks, and honestly…seeing everything come together against the beauty of Animal Kingdom felt magical!

And yes…this was also his first Dapper Day ever!

🌻Even sunflowers have cloudy days… but they never forget where the light lives🌻

Lately, healing hasn’t been as quick or easy as I hoped. But like a sunflower reaches for the sun, I’m reaching towards the light, learning to be resilient. Giving God praise through this strom. Taking my time and knowing that the strength is growing within, even when I feel tired on days like today. As much as I want to take on the world, I'm giving myself grace to take my time and listen to my body. Brighter days are soon ahead 💛
