Delighted that tonight's event @shrewbooksfowey is sold out. A fascinating and inspiring conversation about 'Cornwall Uncharted' between banner artist @alicegabb and author @paultm_author. This is my illustration for 'Chapter 1 - Urban Centres of Queer Concealment and Performance'. A mix of Truro, Penzance and suggested hidden spaces. Copies available in bookshops across Cornwall and @thehistorypresslocal as well as author copies direct through Paul or myself. by @fantasticselection

Had the most delightful (first) visit to @clemobooks , on a very hot and sunny day in Newquay. Signed a stack of books and got chance to say thank you to Jaimie and @sonnywalkerauthor for championing and endorsing ‘Cornwall Uncharted’. If you live nearby, are on holiday, or will be shortly, please drop by and pick up a signed hardback copy and some limited edition merch whilst stocks last!

The world needs more independents, especially like this one, doing such excellent work in and for their local community.

Then took a leisurely stroll down to Fistral beach to take the obligatory selfie. Another good day.

What a day @penzancelitfest … 🎉 very early start for long drive down county to the @acornpenzance to enjoy a wonderful talk by Patrick Gale @trevilley (who I finally got to meet later during my talk!), then it was down to @newlynexchange where I bumped into @tim_hannigan1 and mum Pauline, then watched a fascinating talk by fellow authors … including @samstonewriter @emilycharlotteeditorial @thetrevaskis … in the salt & stone anthology by @hermitagepresscornwall … before my own author talk about ‘Cornwall Uncharted’ @thehistorypresslocal which was superbly chaired by @ukcoast2coast (Peter), and I met a great group of thoughtful, supportive festival-goers, including @alistair_appletons_mindsprings - my favourite presenter of BBC’s Escape to the Country! Many thanks to the festival team (particularly Graham!) and to @waterstonestru @libbyshaw77 for helping sell lots of books … It was then across to see @mattconnorhemming (and boys) in their new home, in stunning Porthleven harbour, followed by dinner and a much deserved wine as the sun slipped quietly down on the best of days! And did I mention the husband was messaging me throughout the afternoon that the amazing @arthurfery had stormed into the semi finals at Wimbledon?!? ❤️❤️❤️ by @fantasticselection

Really looking forward to being in conversation with @ukcoast2coast (Peter McAllister) in The Engine Room at The Exchange on Wednesday 8th July at 3 pm. Thrilled to report that the Book Launch Party at Liskeard Library has now sold out!

Happy Publication Day! Absolutely thrilled that my little book, ‘Cornwall Uncharted’ is finally out in the world and during Pride Month. Huge thanks to the team @thehistorypresslocal for their expertise, belief and support in bringing this type of title to market, to the marvellous James Innerdale @fantasticselection for his sublime illustrations, cover and colour map and to Sophie and Nicki @queer_kernow who have provided the book’s foreword and whose incredible work gave me the courage to put pen to paper! I will get chance to properly thank hubs, family, friends, neighbours and members of my writing tribe at various launch events taking place later this month, starting with a party at Liskeard Library on Thursday 18th June! Tickets for that (as well as other talks) can be booked via my bio links, as is the link to some of the wonderful retailers who have already agreed to stock the book or can order one in at the click of a button! A perfect location for a second read of this thought-provoking book by @paultm_author, charting Cornwall’s queer history of culture and concealment. Really looking forward to speaking with him (and illustrator @fantasticselection ) about it as part of the launch event on 18 June @theliskeardlibrary. It’s an immersive, compelling, important read, deeply researched, deftly handled and beautifully wrought. Hard recommend (and come along if you’re in our neck of the woods I think there’s a few spots left). by @fantasticselection

Nearly there - in two week's time the launch party at #LiskeardLibrary will have happened and and Dr Paul Taylor-McCartney's brilliant book #CornwallUncharted, published by the lovely #HistroyPress will be out there. I have had the pleasure of providing illustrations and here is the map across the central pages showing #Cornwall's #queer creative past and it's influence.
