Stop lore contradictions before they break your reader's immersion. 🔍 Ever accidentally changed your protagonist's eye colour, or the rules of your magic system, halfway through writing? Our lore consistency checker compares your pasted canon with your current scene to catch those slips before they reach a reader. It's built for the actual writing process: the messy middle of a manuscript where details are easiest to lose track of. Keep your world-building tight, and keep your readers in the story instead of pulled out of it. What detail have you accidentally contradicted in your own draft? Tell us below. Is your ebook ready for the world? Follow this essential pre-release checklist. 📋 Before you hit publish, ensure your foundation is solid: verify your tax profile and bank details, perfect your manuscript formatting and metadata, and use tools like Kindle Previewer to catch errors before your readers do. Before any of that, the manuscript itself has to be right: consistent lore, a world that holds together, characters who stay true from chapter one to the end. That's what FantasyWriter is for, so you can run through this checklist with a story you're confident in. A professional release starts with a professional process, on both sides. What stage are you at: still writing, or getting ready to publish? Tell us below. Link in bio. by @fantasywriterapp
Step into the roots of the genre with these foundational fantasy tales. 📖 Our picks: George MacDonald's Phantastes, a journey into Fairy Land that challenges the boundaries of beauty and sacrifice. Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, where animal archetypes explore the balance between civilization and the wild. Both are public domain classics, free to read, and worth studying for how the masters built a world without a single wasted page. Once you've read them, FantasyWriter is where you put what you've learned into your own story, and it keeps your world's rules consistent as it grows. Which one are you adding to your reading list? The library is silent, but the shadows are whispering the secrets of the gods. 🕯️ Deep within the archives, the books don't just sit on shelves - they breathe. A slow, silent walk through the stacks reveals golden light pulsing from ancient spines. The air smells of ozone and old parchment. You came here for a spell, but the shadows are offering you a choice. Will you listen? Start writing what happens next in FantasyWriter, and let your world's own rules decide what the shadows are allowed to offer. What's the one secret your character would risk everything to hear? 📖 FANTASY BOOK OF THE WEEK: Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros Why we love it: 1️⃣ Violet is an underdog who wins with brains, not brawn 2️⃣ The pacing barely lets up, so it's hard to put down 3️⃣ Action, romance and political intrigue, with alliances that keep shifting Have you read it? Rate it out of 5 dragons 🐉 in the comments and tell us why. 👀 Next Friday: a book with a magic system that follows real rules. Follow along so you don't miss it. Building your own fantasy world? What if the ink in your quill turned to liquid starlight as you wrote? ✨ Imagine a world where stories aren't just read, but physically manifested. A writer's inkwell holds the essence of dying stars. Every sentence penned creates a small, shimmering nebula on the page. But if the story is forgotten, the stars fade into cold, dark ash. What tale would you write if your words literally lit up the night? Start it in FantasyWriter, and if your story needs an omen for the moment the ink runs dry, our free Prophecy Generator will spark one for you in seconds. Tell us: what's the first line of your starlight story? Link in bio. by @fantasywriterapp
Keep your lore consistent without the headache. 🧩 Stop worrying about lore contradictions three chapters later. Our free lore consistency checker compares your canon against your scene in seconds, no account needed. Paste what your world says is true, paste the scene you just wrote, and it flags anything that doesn't match. It's built for actually writing your book, not just planning it. What detail are you most afraid of contradicting later: eye colour, a timeline, a magic rule? Tell us below. Link in bio to try it free. by @fantasywriterapp
Stop info-dumping. Use your character's needs to reveal your world. 📖 Don't build an encyclopedia in chapter one. When your character needs shelter, answers, or a weapon, that's the moment the world should react - not before. In FantasyWriter, you write scene by scene and your Lore Bible fills in alongside your story, so you're never tempted to front-load an info-dump just to keep your own details straight. What's the first thing your protagonist needs in chapter one? Tell us below, then go write the scene that reveals your world through it. Link in bio to start free. by @fantasywriterapp
Discover worlds through the eyes of those who wander them. 📖 Our picks: George MacDonald's Phantastes invites us into a dreamlike Fairy Land, and Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book explores the balance between wild and civilized worlds. Both show how character perspective defines the environment, the world isn't just described, it's experienced. That's the same principle behind how FantasyWriter helps you build your own world: not an encyclopedia of lore, but a story your reader experiences through your character's eyes, with every detail staying consistent as you write. Which perspective pulls you in more: the dreamer's or the wanderer's? Tell us below, then go write your own. Link in bio to start free. by @fantasywriterapp
A bustling marketplace at twilight. Gold lanterns flicker against deep teal shadows. A character reaches for a forbidden item, their hand trembling. The world is watching. 🏮 A scene like this is where your worldbuilding actually shows up on the page - not in a lore dump, but in what's for sale, what's illegal, and what it costs to get caught. The hard part is remembering those rules three chapters later. Write this scene in FantasyWriter and your world's economy, laws and culture stay consistent every time you come back to them. Tell us the one forbidden item your character can't resist, then go write the trade. Link in bio to start free. by @fantasywriterapp
A lone wanderer stands before a towering, brass-gated city. The air is thick with ozone and ancient stone. Every step toward the gate is a gamble, the city's laws are etched into the very masonry. 🏛️ What would you risk to get back to the place you once called home? Tell us: what's the one law your character would break to get there? 👇 Explore Fantasy Writer — link in bio. by @fantasywriterapp
📖 FANTASY BOOK OF THE WEEK: The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien Why readers love it: 1️⃣ A whole world built with its own history, languages, cultures and mythology 2️⃣ Frodo is chosen for his character, not his strength 3️⃣ It set the standard countless fantasy stories still follow Fair warning: some readers find the start slow. Did you love every page, or skim to Rivendell? Be honest. 😄 👀 Next Friday: YOU choose. Comment the fantasy book you want featured next. Ready to build a world of your own?
