A faster-paced evening ride for riders who want a proper training session on Oslo gravel. 📍 Fara Showroom Oslo 📅 Wednesday, October 7th ☕ Coffee from 16.00 🚲 Roll-out at 16.30 Bring lights! SATURDAY — THE 10/10 RIDE A 68 km social gravel adventure through the Gravel Capital. We’ll ride at around 20 km/h avg. and keep the group together — this is a no-drop ride. Das ist Caro aus Köln. Und gut getimed , dass Jeff von @faracycling sich bei seiner Langdistanztour Basel - Kleve so beeilt hat. So konnte er Caro das Rad gleich signieren und übergeben. National Gravel Route 6, like all NGRs, feels completely different depending on the season. I’ve ridden parts of it in spring, summer and autumn, and every time it has had a different feel, a different colour and a different character. There is no single right time to cycle in Norway. Rüsselsheim, before it was a car town: Fritz Opel raced for his own family's bicycle brand, and won Basel–Kleve in 1894. A generation later, the Opels built their own racetrack nearby — concrete, steep curves, up to 140 km/h. In 1928, his nephew, a different Fritz — Fritz von Opel — tested his rocket car here. Cracks, decline, one last race in 1930. The forest did the rest. The banking is still there, under moss, open on unpaved paths — a Lost Place right on the line to Kleve. A cycling journal drew a wise boundary in 1895: the track tests speed, the road tests distance. Basel–Kleve has always been the second kind. Opel began with bicycles. Today we ride its old racetrack under our own power, on two wheels. Our choice for it: the Fara Gr4, built for exactly these long days — 57mm of tyre clearance, rack and fender mounts, down-tube storage, a cockpit tailored to order. This year's edition starts Saturday, 26 September, In Basel, ridden in collaboration with FARA @faracycling . There will be a pre-event Friday evening for registration, briefing and tracker handout plus social ride and get together in collab with @obstundgemuese. The road continues past the finish in Kleve: a finisher party on Wednesday, 30 September, at @cyclecollective_ in Meerbusch-Osterath — the local Fara dealer. A shared ride from 6pm, get-together from 7pm. Philipp and his team helped us scout the kilometres into Kleve. Not decay.
